INDIANAPOLIS, IN- It's cause for celebration in Indy as the Colts dominated in all 3 phases of football. The Colts knew what they had at stake after watching Buffalo take care of business versus the Jets in dominant fashion, a division title for a team that has come so far from 1-15 just 2 seasons ago to 11-1 by the beginning of week 14. "We knew their running game was a problem, they run the ball really well and we have a whole mess of trouble stopping any run game, so we really took the week to prep", from Coach Boyajian as he walked off the field in a victorious mood. The Colts gave up a mere 82 rush yards in total against a dominant Cleveland rush game, although they did give up a 75 yard rush to Eric Metcalf in a troubling 1st half where the Browns found themselves playing a top team in the league within 1 score.
The Colts headed to the locker room with a 7-6 lead and some worrisome faces started to take over the Colts locker room, but one leader stayed true, Albert Bentley. Bentley was quoted as saying "What the f*ck is wrong with you, these guys can't play with us, we let Green Bay have a game and they're softer than these motherf*ckers, step your f*ckin a*s up and lets keep those motherf*ckers from Buffalo out of our godda*n house". This ignited something in this Colts team, Coach Alex Boyajian didn't say a thing in the locker room after that, that was all they needed to hear.
The Colts came out and immediately dropped a pass on 1st and 10, Ivy Joe Hunter was removed from the game just as quick as he came back from injury, setting another example for this Colts team, you can't make a mistake, the teams down the stretch will exploit that. Jessie Hester got hit for a 20 yard pass down the sideline, Bill Brooks found himself with a deep touchdown reception while in double coverage and Albert Bentley found himself in the end zone, going up 2 scores. The Colts kept exploiting the deep ball on Cleveland, finding Bill Brooks multiple times. Once Albert Bentley found the end zone for the 3rd time, the starters got pulled and Ken Clark got his chance and followed suit with a rushing touchdown.
The Colts line wreaked havoc on the Bill Belichick led Browns by sacking Bernie Kosar 5+ times including 2 fumbles and a defensive touchdown. They found their way to hold the Browns to under 200 total yards.
With this victory, the Colts won the AFC East for just the 2nd time since their midnight move to Baltimore, but this time feels different, this time feels like it's for real, 2 playoff appearances in 2 seasons and their record keeps growing. "We are just excited to win it, but not satisfied, we can celebrate tonight but the film is still going to be playing, we have a lot more to work for, just keep our heads down and work, we don't want division titles, we want rings and banners". With a strong schedule looming, the Colts find a test in week 16 in the Buffalo Bills, but first, the division rival New England Patriots.
