Alright, welcome back, episode two thirty-seven. I got it wrong last week. Yes last week was two thirty-six. This is two thirty-seven. welcome back. We got John and Caleb here. We're ready for a fiery episode. we got some baseball debates. I don't know what we're gonna be debating, but I know these two will just hate each other. so we'll we'll be getting some Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Exactly.
John Siebels (00:21.442)
We don't need to debate baseball to do that. I can just hate on Caleb.
Alex Boyajian (00:27.413)
we have some NFL training camp fights. It's that time of the year where this is like the the top news in the NFL sket you know, in the NFL docket is fights. and we have a top five baseball movie Snake Draft at the very end of the show. So check that out and go vote on that at chaoticallyintolerant.com. but before you do that, go check out Springhill Sports Cards. go No, you can't find Caleb on anything.
Can't find any any of his social medias at all.
John Siebels (00:58.55)
I I mean, I know him. I can I can give you his Instagram.
Alex Boyajian (01:03.209)
Don't we're not gonna dox him. We're not gonna dox him.
Caleb Williams (01:05.072)
Give give address too, John.
John Siebels (01:07.052)
I will. And your social security and credit card number.
Alex Boyajian (01:11.485)
It's a date of birth. but yeah, make sure to like, comment, subscribe, and let's go. All right, gentlemen. So we're gonna start out. Caleb, we were talking about this a little bit yesterday in in the group chat. tire season three is out. where first off, and and this is spoiler warning for anyone who hasn't seen it. Caleb, have you seen the final episode yet?
Caleb Williams (01:34.074)
Not yet. We didn't finish it.
Alex Boyajian (01:35.381)
Alright, we won't talk about the final episode. That's like all of my opinions that I have on this, but so far, where is this ranking in your list of of seasons for tires?
Caleb Williams (01:37.446)
We don't want to spoil it anyways.
Caleb Williams (01:46.875)
This is my favorite tire season by far. I I love the cast that they brought in. Dan Soder is one of my favorite comedians right now in the game. I love they kept Joe DeRosa and and now I'm blanking on his name. H Full H Foley. Yeah, the there it's I I enjoyed the season. There it feels like there's more of a plot than the first two seasons. The first two seasons feels like a family guy type of thing with no like real plot line you can just throw on in the background.
Alex Boyajian (02:00.061)
All of them are podcast names, I think it's so funny.
Caleb Williams (02:14.99)
But this season you can a you actually have to pay attention. And I kind of I kinda like that about the show this this season.
Alex Boyajian (02:20.649)
Yeah, definitely. John, you say it you just couldn't get into it. What's wrong with you?
John Siebels (02:27.745)
What's wrong with me? Are we talking about tires or it's like a general thing? Okay, the tire season. I don't know. I'm not like when I watch Shane Gillis' stand up, I love the kind of like frat humor stuff. I don't think I guess I got five episodes into it and I just never like I like, Okay, this is funny, but it's not something I'm gonna like make a a night around watching.
Alex Boyajian (02:29.161)
Yeah, are you mentally deranged?
Alex Boyajian (02:34.399)
Ti well, just general, but tires, yeah.
John Siebels (02:57.061)
would I watch the rest of it? Sure. Should I watch the rest of it? If we're doing a topic on it, it's it's good enough to watch. How long does it take to really pick up?
Alex Boyajian (03:01.332)
Yes.
I mean this pro this won't be a recurring topic by any means. This is just an opening show topic to loosen the juices a little bit.
John Siebels (03:08.459)
Yeah, well I mean I mean it made the podcast. when does it start like picking up, really getting funny?
Caleb Williams (03:14.911)
Two.
Alex Boyajian (03:17.436)
I don't know, I I think it just I think that kind of depends. I it took me I watched like the first three to four episodes and I was like, this is stupid, and I put it down, and then I went back to it like a month later after seeing clips of tires. And I was like, this is really funny. The best thing that they did is they released all the episodes at the same time. They didn't do the week to week to week. I just I don't like that. I I'm sick I just want I want to be able to choose when I watch my episodes.
John Siebels (03:39.533)
I wish everybody would do that.
Caleb Williams (03:45.868)
Yeah,
John Siebels (03:49.91)
Yeah, I just I don't know. I had at that time I had Ted Lasso. Of course me and my wife watched Master Chef. So I feel like there's a lot going on. If she doesn't love it, then we're not gonna watch more than four episodes of it, so
Alex Boyajian (04:03.187)
Also, Shane Gillis just had like he sold out, I think, Lincoln Financial Field, this weekend and he had like a cra just like a crazy fireworks display. Apparently he made no money. He said he made no money on it. I didn't even watch a special. I I don't Yeah, I I just think it's funny. He's like, I'm just gonna do this to do this. I think that's hilarious.
John Siebels (04:15.789)
Good. It's hilarious. That's the best part of the joke. He did it for free.
John Siebels (04:23.285)
I think when you get to a certain point of your like career and you can do ridiculous stuff just because you can, that's the that would be the best part of my career. You know what I mean?
Alex Boyajian (04:32.809)
I think you should do it. I think there's certain people who don't do that shit. Like they have the ability to do ridiculous things and they're just like, I wanna make more money. And it's like, yeah, but now you're just boring.
John Siebels (04:36.107)
Yeah. Stop playing it safe.
Caleb Williams (04:42.369)
I mean, he's he's an Eagles fan, so that's definitely a bucket list kind of thing. I don't think he really cared if there was any money made. It's an incredible experience for him.
Alex Boyajian (04:49.587)
Yeah, if we could record a podcast at Fenway Park, like live at Fenway Park on the Pitchers Mound, I would too. I would too. Absolutely. I would do I would do ever I would do it up. I would bring out Ted Williams' severed head onto the field with me.
Caleb Williams (04:55.114)
I'd pay to do it. I would pay to do it.
Caleb Williams (05:08.065)
That's my mic stand.
John Siebels (05:08.447)
It's in good it's in good shape, by the way. It's frozen, so
Alex Boyajian (05:11.303)
He would be right here, he'd be right here, I'd put my head, I'd rub his head. Just like this. I thought. Hopefully he would be alive.
John Siebels (05:14.635)
Would you thaw it or would you keep it frozen?
Caleb Williams (05:20.256)
No, you keep No, you keep it frozen. He's going to be the future of the Red Sox once again.
John Siebels (05:20.766)
It's fucking gross.
Alex Boyajian (05:25.541)
I no, I hope he would be alive. He should still be alive. I want I want our show to have him reaming John Henry for all of the decisions that he's made in the last five to six years.
John Siebels (05:29.613)
Does he have any genet like genetic sons?
John Siebels (05:39.957)
Are there any men in the Ted Williams lineage that played baseball?
Alex Boyajian (05:43.261)
Seven years.
Alex Boyajian (05:47.017)
Mike Piazza. No, I'm just kidding.
Caleb Williams (05:48.556)
Contrary to my my last name, I am not a part of that lineage.
Alex Boyajian (05:52.166)
No, you're not. He's also not a part of the Caleb Williams lineage. He's not a part of his own lineage.
Caleb Williams (05:59.081)
As as alike as we look as alike as we look, I'm not related to him, no.
John Siebels (06:06.391)
So his son did play in two thousand two with a minor league affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, having no prior professional baseball experience. thirty three and then he died at thirty five.
Alex Boyajian (06:16.073)
How old was he when he played?
he's a Nepo. He's a Nepo. Wait, when did he die?
John Siebels (06:24.193)
So at thirty five from leukemia. So right right after you play with Red Second. So what that says is that if maybe Ted Williams' baseball genes aren't as strong as you think. So maybe if we clone Ted Williams, he might not be that good at baseball. There's no guarantee that a clone has the same skills. Caleb, what's your take on that?
Caleb Williams (06:30.131)
Jesus.
Alex Boyajian (06:33.307)
so that wasn't
Caleb Williams (06:49.78)
Yeah, I've I've played with enough of lineage guys from major league players to know that it doesn't exactly always translate.
Alex Boyajian (06:57.695)
Caleb, what do you feel on eugenics? What is your what is your feeling on eugenics? That's really that's really the question that John is asking.
Caleb Williams (07:03.527)
I have no idea what that is.
John Siebels (07:08.235)
Yeah. What's your take o what's your take on selective breeding for sports?
Caleb Williams (07:09.928)
I d I
Caleb Williams (07:16.999)
I got north on four.
Alex Boyajian (07:18.163)
You you wish you wish your parents would have done that so you would have had a a better arm?
John Siebels (07:19.255)
Ha ha
Caleb Williams (07:24.563)
I mean if my dad was Randy Johnson that'd be pretty cool, but I do like the dad I have.
Alex Boyajian (07:27.145)
So you could have pumped like ninety eight instead of like ninety three?
Caleb Williams (07:32.156)
There's some pretty unspeakable things I'd do to throw that audio.
John Siebels (07:36.269)
Can you would you would you mind saying them here on the podcast? Live? Would you?
Alex Boyajian (07:39.729)
Live on a hot mic?
Caleb Williams (07:42.216)
I don't think we're allowed to post any of the clips of it.
Alex Boyajian (07:46.85)
But you're okay if it goes on YouTube, just a at the top of the show, in the first seven minutes of the show.
Caleb Williams (07:52.038)
Yeah, yeah, of course. Throw it on the on the on the on the front page.
Alex Boyajian (07:58.442)
Well I'm I'm gonna give you an out right here, Caleb. Do you do you have a topic that that you would like to address?
Caleb Williams (08:06.066)
About what?
Alex Boyajian (08:07.231)
Just add open topic. Anything. Anything.
John Siebels (08:07.442)
Life thoughts general.
Caleb Williams (08:09.936)
Is this are we is this our hot take that we're dropping now?
Alex Boyajian (08:12.773)
No, no, no, no. This is just your open topic. Anything any life thing that happened recently? Anything that you want to talk about?
Caleb Williams (08:24.977)
I mean I got food poisoning. I got food poisoning from frozen pizza, but I I don't think we need to hear the details. I have no idea. It was some Trader Joe's thing, I think.
John Siebels (08:25.394)
And with that we're moving on to the next topic.
Alex Boyajian (08:29.501)
What frozen pizza?
John Siebels (08:32.926)
You shouldn't be able to get food poisoning from frozen pizza. It shouldn't be possible.
Alex Boyajian (08:34.698)
That's
Caleb Williams (08:37.212)
I don't know. I maybe it was something I ate early in the day, but that's all I got from for current events.
Alex Boyajian (08:42.405)
You might you might have like the new r remember when like the farm, like all the lettuce was giving people diarrhea and shit? You might be like patient zero for the next thing like that.
John Siebels (08:52.428)
Caleb, I forgot to tell you, I swapped out your frozen pizza for a bag of that bad lettuce. So you were actually eating that lettuce.
Caleb Williams (08:59.813)
That would check out that makes sense. I can't believe I I mistook the two, but you know, it's an easy mistake to make.
Alex Boyajian (09:10.237)
Alright, that's a good spot to move on. Let's move on to our next topic. Alright, we're gonna do what do you guys what do you what do you guys wanna do? Do we wanna do our twenty five to thirty five minutes on major league baseball?
Caleb Williams (09:11.974)
This is this has gone off the rails.
John Siebels (09:28.588)
I'm down with that.
Caleb Williams (09:31.034)
Anything but the draft, 'cause I'm not prepared for that yet.
Alex Boyajian (09:34.175)
That's fine. Snake drafts at the very end.
John Siebels (09:34.282)
I am. Just take money ball.
Take money ball.
Alex Boyajian (09:41.523)
Yeah, 'cause you wanna win.
Caleb Williams (09:45.613)
I wouldn't take it early. We'll see where that falls.
John Siebels (09:50.41)
I wanna pull up the box score from that brewers game real quick.
John Siebels (09:57.953)
Was that yesterday? Twenty two zip.
Alex Boyajian (10:02.792)
Yeah. Twenty two zip last night.
Caleb Williams (10:05.167)
Dude, that that Julio Rodriguez play was fing hilarious.
Alex Boyajian (10:08.502)
I don't blame him whatsoever. If it's if it's that bad, yeah. If it's that bad, you're in fucking August. Where where are they at? They're 59 and 67. they're only three games out of the playoff spot, but still I know, but they're like they're not good. Of course you're gonna be checked out. I don't blame them whatsoever.
Caleb Williams (10:12.203)
He was checked out. He didn't give a shit.
Caleb Williams (10:22.956)
Well, because the AL's just that bad.
Caleb Williams (10:31.576)
And he's making twenty five million dollars a year.
Alex Boyajian (10:34.208)
Yeah.
And he just fucking made ESP he just made Sports Center. There you go. That's a Sports Center clip right there.
John Siebels (10:36.982)
Kyle Harrison's a fucking dog.
Caleb Williams (10:43.998)
No such thing as bad publicity.
John Siebels (10:46.796)
Let me grab a drink real quick and then we'll start. I do want to talk about that.
Alex Boyajian (10:48.436)
I don't know, being a supporter of eugenics is probably bad.
Caleb Williams (10:48.664)
Yeah. I'll I'm gonna I'm gonna do the same.
John Siebels (10:56.396)
I can't believe Caleb came out as a Nazi on the show.
Caleb Williams (10:56.652)
I a feeling me.
Alex Boyajian (11:01.014)
It's literally what the Nazis did.
Caleb Williams (11:06.115)
What did the Nazis do that I did?
Alex Boyajian (11:09.032)
Eugenics. Selective breeding. It's like it's basically it's
Caleb Williams (11:10.948)
I don't know the fuck that is. I don't know what the fuck that means. Is that like when LeBron is that like when they tried to pay LeBron to have a baby with Serena Williams?
John Siebels (11:20.17)
That's exactly what it is.
Caleb Williams (11:22.303)
I don't have the genetics for that.
John Siebels (11:29.076)
And I would have gone, Well, I guess Simone Biles is too short.
Alex Boyajian (11:36.01)
Yeah, you would have to be really tall.
Caleb Williams (11:38.691)
Yeah, if someone tried selective breeding with me, they'd just be a tall white dude with a weird body and tiny dick.
Alex Boyajian (11:46.569)
If you're gonna if you're gonna sele if you're g if you're gonna do eugenics with Simone Biles, you gotta get like fucking LeBron. Or someone crazy tall. Yao Ming.
John Siebels (11:46.624)
Yeah.
John Siebels (11:55.008)
Wemby.
You ever see her standing next to Shaq? She looks like she could be his shoe. It's insane. 'Cause she's like four eight.
Alex Boyajian (12:07.508)
Shaq was probably hitting on her too. That motherfucker hits on everyone.
John Siebels (12:10.43)
I'd hit on her. I'd hit on her.
Caleb Williams (12:12.33)
Well, she probably wanted to like keep her life.
Alex Boyajian (12:16.565)
Ha ha.
Alex Boyajian (12:20.136)
I wonder what the smallest penis on a massive person like that is. Like can you can you imagine being like six eight and you just got like a three inch just a chud?
John Siebels (12:27.436)
So I read
John Siebels (12:34.806)
So I've read that penis sizes don't go with like your body size because they say that like dwarves have what appears to be like the biggest penis ever, but it's just a normal size penis. It's like normal it's like the same thing no matter what. It doesn't affect it unless you're Caleb. In which case it's just tiny.
Alex Boyajian (12:59.208)
I like the little dogs with the massive penises. They're so funny. Cause they're just walking around dragon hog.
John Siebels (13:01.92)
Big penises. My mom had a dog
My s or not my mom, my aunt is an my aunt walking around dragon hog. here's something funny that happened to me today. we got an email. It's dragging my cock everywhere, dude. I I've got road rash on it. I got an email I got an email from the Wiener Holocaust Foundation at work. And in my head I said, isn't that what Joey Chestnut does every fourth of July?
Caleb Williams (13:10.048)
It could be a T shirt.
Alex Boyajian (13:11.798)
Walking around next that's a good t shirt idea.
Alex Boyajian (13:19.338)
You're walking around Dragon Og.
On his school at at school.
John Siebels (13:37.77)
Great joke. Didn't go over well with my coworkers. it's a c it's an essay contest. It was a great joke. So it's a probably. It's a comment it's a contest about like writing an essay about the Holocaust in the first place like twenty five hundred dollars for students. But the foundation is the Wiener Holocaust Foundation because it was started by someone named Rebecca Wiener. I'm like, why not n
Caleb Williams (13:39.21)
Mm-hmm.
Alex Boyajian (13:42.548)
That one should have gone over great.
What are they Jewish?
John Siebels (14:05.577)
Why not name it after like a famous Holocaust victim? Why you gotta stick your wiener on it?
Alex Boyajian (14:09.994)
A famous Holocaust victim. Yeah, she wrote a book. I don't even she wasn't even in the Holocaust.
John Siebels (14:12.565)
Who's the most famous person? Ian Frank.
Caleb Williams (14:12.927)
I think there's only one of those.
John Siebels (14:19.519)
Yes, she was. It's where she died.
Caleb Williams (14:19.711)
I've got a banger banger value pick.
Alex Boyajian (14:21.63)
She she was like in the she was in the concentration camps?
John Siebels (14:24.351)
Yes, she died at concentration camp.
Alex Boyajian (14:27.123)
I thought I thought they like captured her at in her little in the attic. I never read her book.
John Siebels (14:35.829)
So the most famous one is
John Siebels (14:43.563)
Peter Petra Gins, screenwriter.
John Siebels (14:51.349)
So they didn't even have anybody like super famous.
Alex Boyajian (14:53.834)
The Ginns Foundation? No, that sucks.
John Siebels (14:59.221)
Nah, yeah. Just an A pack money grab probably. Probably laundered money. I hate them.
Alex Boyajian (15:04.106)
Definitely. Alright, enough Jew talk.
Caleb Williams (15:05.662)
I've got such I've got such a banger late round pick for this draft that I don't think either of you have seen, but it's such a good movie.
John Siebels (15:13.867)
Or I have a better one.
Alex Boyajian (15:16.192)
I think I know what you're gonna take.
Caleb Williams (15:16.766)
I don't think you do. There's no chance you've seen this movie. Like nobody I know has seen this movie, but it's so fucking good and needs to be watched.
Alex Boyajian (15:26.654)
Is it like an indie movie?
John Siebels (15:29.223)
Is it about the pirates?
Caleb Williams (15:29.64)
Think so. No.
Alex Boyajian (15:31.102)
I'm not gonna take it, but I think I know what it is.
Caleb Williams (15:34.589)
Does it involve college?
Caleb Williams (15:40.015)
If you if it's taking you that long to answer.
Alex Boyajian (15:40.629)
Yeah.
John Siebels (15:43.011)
Alex Boyajian (15:43.956)
Well, because I have two I have two in my mind. One of them is definitely college. The other one they could be in college, but they don't specifically say.
Caleb Williams (15:52.165)
One of them involves an actor that likes tornadoes.
Alex Boyajian (15:58.037)
Natus.
John Siebels (15:58.74)
The subway guy?
Caleb Williams (16:01.948)
I don't think he's an actor, I think he's just a pedophile.
Alex Boyajian (16:02.752)
No, he likes kids. No, he likes kids.
John Siebels (16:02.897)
He was in he was in Sharknado. The he was in Sharknado.
Caleb Williams (16:07.686)
Was he actually?
John Siebels (16:09.407)
Sharknado three, yeah. They're subway for
Alex Boyajian (16:10.88)
Jared Fogle was in
Did they at least like did he get eaten?
John Siebels (16:16.821)
Did he like fuck a child in the background while the Shark NATO was going by? No, so I When I was in high sch when I played lacrosse in high school, I went to Subway before every single game. and it was like my good luck charm. And they had Shark Nado cups. What? Subway is still good.
Caleb Williams (16:19.13)
Ha ha.
Glad we're still recording.
Alex Boyajian (16:25.622)
This will be cut.
Alex Boyajian (16:32.448)
Somewhere used to be good.
Subway used to be good. It used to be really good. I every time I get it I'm so disappointed.
Caleb Williams (16:37.451)
yeah.
It's it's not my first choice, but it still it still hits when you're in the mood for it.
Alex Boyajian (16:46.716)
It used to be like one of my top choices for a very long time.
John Siebels (16:50.569)
I'll go to Wawa before I'll go to Subway now, but Moe's is my favorite fast casual.
Caleb Williams (16:53.712)
Wawa. Wawa bangs.
John Siebels (16:58.443)
I'm gonna get Wawa tomorrow. My mom gave me a DoorDash gift certificate for my birthday. I'm gonna DoorDash it to school.
Caleb Williams (17:05.061)
We need like blooper reels, just like post random reels of the bullshit that we talk about in between subjects.
John Siebels (17:09.747)
Yeah.
Alex Boyajian (17:11.284)
I know, I'm trying to think about well like sometim like me and Mike well for a long time me and Mike would just run the show for an hour straight. We wouldn't take breaks, we wouldn't have any of this shit. So I never ha had anything to do with that. So now I gotta think of stuff to do with all this, 'cause this is good material too.
John Siebels (17:13.643)
Okay.
John Siebels (17:25.929)
Yeah. Hey Caleb, you remember that one time when the Epstein files were gonna come out and you were like panicking and thinking about leaving the country?
Was that that was just me and him. Yeah, he's like Yeah, it's just allegations after all.
Alex Boyajian (17:36.65)
He was like, they can't release those. It's not technically proven.
Caleb Williams (17:41.742)
They there's no there's no way they could have seen my receipts for my boat trips. There's just no chance.
Alex Boyajian (17:47.463)
Ha ha ha.
John Siebels (17:48.426)
Did you see where I forget who the podcast guy was? He he was interviewing Hunter Biden and he goes, So Epstein Island. But like if there were no there was no kid stuff. And Hunter Hunter goes, well, pretty good vacation to be honest. And he cut it, so he goes, So Epstein Island. He goes, pretty good vacation, to be honest with you. And in the podcast, Biden he goes, you're gonna fucking cut that, are you, dickhead? He goes, a hundred percent.
Caleb Williams (18:08.297)
No.
Alex Boyajian (18:17.547)
He had a good one, they asked him, Would you rather have dinner with Eric or who's the other Trump son? Don John the the Coke head Don Jr. He was like, Would you rather have dinner with Don Jr. or the Pod Save America guys, that super liberal podcast? And Hunter just goes, Can I just do crack again?
John Siebels (18:25.287)
Eric and Don Junior.
Caleb Williams (18:26.244)
Donald Jr.
John Siebels (18:40.575)
Well, if you're with Don Junior, almost.
Alex Boyajian (18:44.597)
Yeah, you're pretty close.
John Siebels (18:44.799)
Trust me, if you if you want crack bad enough you can smoke cocaine. I I would know.
Alex Boyajian (18:50.259)
Okay. That's that's that's a good starting point.
Caleb Williams (18:54.443)
That'll go on the blue for real.
Alex Boyajian (18:56.021)
That'll be a good intro right there. All right. We're talking baseball. It was a crazy week of baseball. We had a 22 to nothing game, getting into the football spirit. The Packers beat the Seahawks 22 to nothing. The Orioles have now fallen out of a playoff spot after they became the fourth ALE's team to be in a playoff spot. So, boys, what's going on? Where are we at right now?
in with with major league bay with this AL playoff picture specifically.
John Siebels (19:29.243)
Yeah outside of like the bottom three teams, literally anybody could get I would go all the way down to Seattle. I think there's only three teams in the American League that don't have like a legitimate chance to make the postseason. The Royals, the Athletics, and the Angels. Other than that, anybody could get in because it goes from Seattle three games out of the wild card to Kansas City nine and a half games, then twelve and thirteen. So by the end of this week
Caleb Williams (19:42.63)
Royals.
John Siebels (19:58.793)
Seattle could conceivably be back in the playoffs. Which is kind of how bad the American league is this year outside of the top few teams.
Caleb Williams (20:10.615)
Yeah, I can't remember the last time we've seen a playoff race like this, a wild card race like this, where we've got six teams outside of a playoff spot that are within three games. Most of them are within a game or a game and a half. And I mean, even as a Red Sox fan, I don't feel fully safe. We have a five and a half game lead, but there's so many teams that are on this fringe and it takes one or two of them getting hot and everything just goes crazy. So it's there's still a lot of baseball to be played, but
It's it I s I feel like we're gonna see that third wild card spot flip-flop a lot between these teams.
John Siebels (20:47.528)
Like Toronto, ten games ago I had Toronto dead at the trade deadline. I said they're dead. They they don't have a shot. And now they're a half game out of the wild card after a seven and three stretch. So any of these teams, you go on a seven and three, you're in. You go on a three and seven right now, like Seattle just did, you could be out of it. So how much does this next few weeks matter? I think more than any like late August stretch in recent memory.
For a lot of teams.
Caleb Williams (21:19.637)
And if you look at the teams that are are lined up behind the twins for that third spot, you can see any of those teams going on a run just because of of what they've got in their in their organization. You know, Mariners have their pitching staff, they can ride their pitching staff, they have. It hasn't it hasn't helped them lately, but they can always go on a run. The Tigers have been hot lately. They kind of cooled off a little bit, but they went on a run there the last couple weeks. Orioles have the offense, the Guardians.
go on a it feels like they go on a twenty and five run every single year at the run this time. So you can't count them out. Blue Jays, it feels like Vladdy's a sweep sleeping giant ready to blow up. And then I I'm not counting the Blue Jays out. And then the Rangers, they can swing it too. So I don't feel comfortable with any of these teams being this close right now.
John Siebels (22:10.802)
Now before Alex, I I'm sure you are gonna talk next, 'cause I would say I think Baltimore and Detroit don't have a shot. I think Baltimore's little pop is a result of a bunch of dudes in a clubhouse saying, they were we were sellers and everyone's counting us out. Let's show who we are and you go on a little bit of a run, but you just simply don't have the firepower. Same with Detroit. I don't think they have the firepower on the pitching side of things to hang through September.
I think Toronto, Cleveland, Seattle outside of the wildcard are legitimate. and then of course all the teams that are currently in the playoffs I think are legitimate.
Alex Boyajian (22:55.087)
I'm looking at at Baltimore right now. They have the Yankees tonight and tomorrow. And then they get the Rays, but after that, you get St. Louis. Where's St. Louis? they're right on the fringe there. And then the A's and the Rockies. They they can pick up six games right there. I mean, can they set themselves up at least? 'Cause that the you that's gonna get you to September. That's gonna get you to September third versus Boston in Baltimore.
I will be in the house on September 3rd with my dog. That is Bark at the Park night. So I will be there with the dog. she's gonna have a Red Sox bandana. I'm debating getting her a jersey too. I might just say fuck it. She already has a Colts jersey. But then it's a tough stretch in September, but who knows what happens in September. So I guess is is there a case? Is there a case there or does that firepower just kind of die out in September?
John Siebels (23:29.256)
Yes.
John Siebels (23:53.755)
If they could I mean if they could hold with the Yankees and the Rays, then you give yourself that feeling like, we can play with these guys, I think St. Louis is a much better team. The question is can they go could the Orioles go five hundred against the Rays, Yankees and St. Louis five hundred or a game or so around that?
Alex Boyajian (24:04.938)
They took three of four against the Rays.
John Siebels (24:17.968)
so that they can pick up six games against the Rockies and A's. If you lose seven of nine in those first three series, then you're pretty much done.
Alex Boyajian (24:28.086)
'Cause then after that they go Boston, Cleveland, Toronto. Then they get the Mets, which the Mets, three easy wins. Milwaukee Yeah. Milwaukee, Toronto, and then New York to end the year. All of these teams except for New York and Milwaukee I'm not really gonna talk about Milwaukee. I mean, Milwaukee's good, but they're not in the American League wild card race. You can get games on all of those. On all those teams. So
John Siebels (24:31.806)
And they're gonna get beaten all those series.
Caleb Williams (24:32.486)
Please.
John Siebels (24:36.934)
Worst baseball team I've ever seen.
Alex Boyajian (24:57.416)
I think it's a very this is very realistic for this Orioles team. It sets up really well and this it just all year it's felt like they've been right there, but they just can't get over the hump. And I guess this September's gonna be the real test. I would say. I'll also be in the house on Friday night. I'm gonna be squirted by Todd Gurley. I will be Todd Gurley will be getting me very wet in the outfield on Friday night, so excited for that. Twenty two bucks.
John Siebels (25:15.657)
Is he Todd Gurley?
John Siebels (25:26.186)
Would you like to elaborate on that just a tiny bit?
Alex Boyajian (25:28.296)
No, not at all. Not at all. Not at all. We will be talking more about the squirting of of Todd. This is supposed to be the Maryland spotlight, but I I guess we're kinda taking that. We'll just Well, the the b the Orioles were supposed to be the Maryland spotlight a later segment.
John Siebels (25:36.552)
We talked about Baltimore.
John Siebels (25:44.66)
Hmm. Do we want to talk about the Ravens?
Alex Boyajian (25:45.676)
So you fucking idiot. You fucking idiot. No, I don't want to talk about the Ravens. I want I want John to give me a case against the Red Sox. Why are the Red Sox why are the Red Sox not going to win a playoff series? And Caleb, I want you to to give it back to him.
John Siebels (25:56.65)
Case against
John Siebels (26:06.408)
Well, how's it line up right now? They would get they would get New York. that's why, because they're gonna get New York. And I think New York's a better team. I mean I I don't know what you want me to say. Well I mean if they beat New York, then what? They're gonna get the Rays and get it handed to 'Cause the Rays are a much better team than the Red Sox. And it does before Caleb says anything,
Caleb Williams (26:11.171)
Same thing as last year.
John Siebels (26:34.492)
I think it comes down to the return of Roman Anthony. Legitimately. 'Cause Adley looks like dog shit right now. So that's not the huge what is he, like three and thirty five as a Red Sox? What is look
Alex Boyajian (26:40.981)
He had a home run yesterday. Are you fucking serious?
Caleb Williams (26:42.542)
Excuse me.
Caleb Williams (26:46.862)
Four four hit four hits in his last two games.
Alex Boyajian (26:48.405)
He's coming back from an injury. He's coming back from an injury. A new place coming back from an injury. Are we gonna judge his year based on one week?
Caleb Williams (26:51.618)
And they roughed him back.
John Siebels (26:51.762)
Okay, but he's been coming back from an injury for three years.
Caleb Williams (26:56.918)
They addly rushed him back.
Alex Boyajian (26:58.967)
Ha ha ha
Caleb Williams (27:03.97)
No, but for real. They they had him play two two fucking rehab games and then they expect him to have his timing down after not playing for two months. And now he's
John Siebels (27:12.584)
Yeah, but he's always not playing for two months. When's the last time Adley Rutchman played a full season? Two thousand three? Yeah. and it's twenty six. So back to my point. if Roman
Caleb Williams (27:18.511)
Twenty two, twenty two, twenty three.
Alex Boyajian (27:26.699)
Yeah, but he had to play in Baltimore. Did you ever did you ever take that into account that he had to play in Baltimore?
John Siebels (27:33.266)
No, I didn't. Because y if you're a quality athlete, you play where Bobby Wood Jr. plays in Kansas City. Okay, and he's put up a nine point seven war season. I don't want to hear it. if and and may I speak.
Permission to speak. if Roman Anthony comes back and he is the major boost that you guys are hoping he will be, then they're in a really good spot. If Crochet comes back and he's back to being a legitimate ace, then they're in a really fucking good spot. Because I trust Sonny Gray, I trust Bennett, I trust Abreu, Saddam Rafaela. But if you're gonna add multiple guys back into the mix, and they
Caleb Williams (27:49.495)
Preferably not. Preferably not.
John Siebels (28:16.605)
Don't perform like the superstars are supposed to be, then that's a massive letdown for the organization. Because even though all these dudes in the Red Sox Clubhouse say, well, we're professional, it doesn't matter who we have on the field. We're a bunch of pro baseball players. On that stretch, you know in the back of their minds they're saying, Can we keep in it in this race? Can we get back in the race and stay in it long enough for Crochet and Roman Anthony to come back? And if they can't, then
You're relying on a bunch of dudes who are relying on those dudes to come back for That's my take.
Alex Boyajian (28:49.207)
Questioning Roman Anthony's readiness when he hit an actual nuclear bomb last night. I don't care. He hit a fucking nuclear bomb. I don't care what level.
John Siebels (28:53.393)
In what in what level? In what level?
Cool. Okay. He did it in the World Baseball Classic too. Does that give the Red Sox any p any runs? How many runs do the Red Sox get in a series against the Yankees for a nuclear bomb, as you say, that Roman Anthony hit in the minor leagues yesterday? Is is that count as two runs in game?
Alex Boyajian (29:15.243)
How many at bats would Roman Anthony have in that series?
John Siebels (29:18.589)
Does I'm I'm talking about the home run he hit in the minors. How many runs is that?
Alex Boyajian (29:21.109)
No, I'm say I'm asking how many how many at bats would Roman Anthony have in that series? What would you estimate?
John Siebels (29:28.627)
Twelve.
Alex Boyajian (29:30.209)
Twelve rounds.
John Siebels (29:31.763)
Twelve it's worth twelve ra. Okay. So you start you start the series with twelve row, okay.
Alex Boyajian (29:33.345)
He'd have 12 runs. It's worth that home run. That home run is worth tell 12 runs. That's the first ever 12 run home run.
John Siebels (29:38.417)
Yeah, but like let's actually be realistic about it.
Caleb Williams (29:39.594)
May it was early May. I think May eighth.
John Siebels (29:43.165)
L let's just be real realistic about it. when's the last time he played a major league baseball game?
Alex Boyajian (29:49.345)
KO?
John Siebels (29:53.29)
Okay, and when's he gonna be back? When is he projected to be back? Okay, so the end of August. So he's got a month to get into playoff mode, to get back from injury into regular season mode and then flip the switch into playoff.
Caleb Williams (29:57.351)
Next week.
Caleb Williams (30:08.232)
So you say we're gonna lose to the Yankees when Judge Stanton and Bellinger are all gonna also have maybe a month, month and a half.
John Siebels (30:13.799)
No, but w w one of those is is Aaron Judge.
Caleb Williams (30:19.678)
How do we know he's gonna be Aaron Judge when he comes back? This is an injury that's kept him out for a while. It's the playoffs. He won't be good.
John Siebels (30:20.157)
And
Well, it's the playoffs, so he might not be good. I like if the Red Sox have crochet healthy, I like the Red Sox pitching better than the Yankees. If Crochet is not crochet, then I like the Yankees rotation and bullpen.
Caleb Williams (30:36.552)
Crochet, they already said will be two to three innings if he comes back this year. But I I think that's a perfect. That's a seriously. No, that's a nice opener. No, no, that's a nice opener for Bayo, who's been fucking unreal. Bayo has been unreal out of the bullpen. Crochet starting for two, three innings, give Bayo six, let Chapman or Miller or Whitlock finish it out in the ninth. I'm completely fine with that.
John Siebels (30:40.989)
Okay, so the Yankees have a significantly better pitching stat.
Alex Boyajian (30:44.865)
So you get a lot so you get you get a mid reliever. You get a two to three inning reliever in the playoffs.
Or an opener, yeah.
Caleb Williams (31:04.572)
I don't think it'll get to that in a three game series, but in in a in the ALDS, ALCS, however far we take it, I I really like that setup between those two guys.
Alex Boyajian (31:04.972)
You're
Alex Boyajian (31:14.645)
You're you're giving shit to Roman for not playing. LeBron's not gonna play he LeBron's gonna play twenty-five percent of the regular season this year. Are you you're you're not holding LeBron and Roman Anthony to the same standard? Because every single person would
John Siebels (31:15.111)
And then you but who's your fourth guy?
John Siebels (31:26.419)
No.
John Siebels (31:30.651)
No. Are you holding are you holding fucking I don't know Stevie Wonder and a homeless guy to the same standards in a piano playing contest? Where did LeBron James come from?
Caleb Williams (31:47.076)
No, that threw me off. I don't know where we're going here.
John Siebels (31:49.159)
Yeah. Like
Alex Boyajian (31:50.06)
You were showing me LeBron at the beginning of the show. You were glazing LeBron before we started recording, before Caleb even came on. What?
John Siebels (31:52.286)
So how about this? you y you need you need to have a quadruple bypass. You're the best heart surgeon in the history of mankind is a getting a little older and your alternative is a kid who like watched Grey's Anatomy a few episodes. Who are you taking to do your open heart surgery? That's a real question we have to ask.
Alex Boyajian (32:02.495)
Mm.
Alex Boyajian (32:12.641)
We're not talking about surgery. We're not we're not talking about surgery. What are you talking about?
Caleb Williams (32:16.322)
open heart surgeon doesn't have to defend Jason Tatum.
John Siebels (32:16.574)
But yeah.
Jason Tames a fucking pussy. Jalen, by the way, your best player plays for LeBron now. So there's that.
Caleb Williams (32:28.324)
Mm. Peyton Pritcher doesn't. Peyton Peyton Pritcher doesn't play for the seventy sixers.
Alex Boyajian (32:30.655)
Our best player's Brad Stevens. Our best player's Brad Stevens. Brad Stevens is still with the Celtics. That's all I know. As long as we have Brad Stevens, I'm fully confident.
John Siebels (32:30.771)
Jalen Brown was your best player.
John Siebels (32:38.395)
Anyway,
I'll take it that I made a lot of good points 'cause all you did and I expect better from you, Alex. I expect deflection and bullshit from Caleb, but not from you.
Alex Boyajian (32:47.509)
I think I think John lost. I'm gonna give I'm gonna give a point to Caleb, a point, a point to me, and a point to LeBron.
John Siebels (32:59.697)
G I'll take it. I will volunteer all of my points to LeBron.
Alex Boyajian (33:03.581)
You you you don't have any points to volunteer to LeBron.
John Siebels (33:07.431)
When I get them I want to go to LeBron. Not yet.
Alex Boyajian (33:09.675)
But you don't have any. okay. what about the Cubs? T let's let's talk a little bit about the Chicago Cubs. PCA, I mean, is this guy is this guy like just the best baseball player on the planet now?
John Siebels (33:16.189)
What about him?
Caleb Williams (33:21.029)
V VP.
John Siebels (33:25.681)
Right now, yes.
Caleb Williams (33:26.65)
Right now, yeah.
Alex Boyajian (33:28.523)
Are we gonna see this in the playoffs?
John Siebels (33:29.037)
And We don't know yet, because he fucking fell asleep with the wheel the second half of last season and kind of cost them a playoff spot. So it's fucking like super interesting. How does PCA perform in the playoffs? Because last year, post all-star break, lights got a little bit too bright for him. So the lights aren't any brighter than like Wrigley in the playoffs. Especially if they pull fucking the Dodgers or Atlanta.
Caleb Williams (33:32.517)
Mm-hmm.
John Siebels (33:58.786)
Or if Saint Louis sneaks in and they get Saint Louis, a rivalry game in the postseason.
Caleb Williams (34:09.088)
I it it feels like all right, let me fucking speak, please. it feels like PCA's kind of kind of turned a corner like mentally this year with his maturity. It feels like he is showing up when the moment is biggest. I mean it's regular season games, so you can only go so far with that. But that walk-off home run was it no two nights ago. I mean, he he put the team on his shoulders that game. It it it feels like
John Siebels (34:09.34)
Caleb, I'm waiting on you.
John Siebels (34:30.77)
Two nights ago.
Caleb Williams (34:36.769)
This is a different PCA than even the first half PCA ever got this year. It feels like he's got that cold mentality, just like the F you to everybody. The the home run against the Cardinals were chanting overrated. Like he he feels like he's built for a big moment. And I I think if the Cubs make a significant playoff run that he will be a big part of it. Hot take.
John Siebels (34:58.308)
You know what my favorite thing about the Cubs right now is earlier in the season, we were just talking about this before we started recording, they were outstanding at home. They were not outstanding on the road. Their home and away record right now is virtually identical. 38 and 27 at home, 36 and 27 away. So they've turned that around. Saya Suzuki looks better. And I'm a big Saya Suzuki guy. They went out at the trade deadline.
And only focused on their needs. They didn't say, okay, we could use, you know, another bat. No, they have so many pitchers on the injured list right now. They went out and just loaded up on pitchers. Guys that can get them over the hump until they get some of their talent back. And I love that. I love teams where everyone says, you need to make a big splash. And they say, How about we just address our holes and move ahead? And my question, by the way, is why do people hate PCA so much?
Like people really don't like PCA. And I don't get it. Not just Serafino. Serafino was talking about that.
Caleb Williams (36:01.387)
understand it. He's he's probably one of my favorite players. He's one of my favorite players outside of the Red Sox.
Alex Boyajian (36:05.237)
Is it 'cause he's like kind of ginger.
John Siebels (36:07.664)
Is it 'cause he dyes his hair? It's like is it legitimately because he dyes his hair? Is it the same thing with like Caleb Williams, the football guy, painting his nails and people are like, Ugh You can't do that? And I feel like when he started dyeing his hair, that's when people are like, I fucking hate PCA. It's weird. Weird shit, man.
Alex Boyajian (36:26.315)
Who who feels worse about their team right now? Or who just feels worse in general? John about the Royals? Or Frank Fleming about the Mets and the fact that they traded PCA and fucking in 2021 he said it's gonna be one of the worst trades of all time. And someone said, I don't know why you're acting like Pete Crow Armstrong is the next Ronald Acuna or Mike Drout, and Frank said, He is. That's how this always works. And Frank was right.
Caleb Williams (36:53.373)
He he literally is.
Alex Boyajian (36:58.059)
Frank was literally right.
John Siebels (36:58.156)
nobody nobody feels worse about their team than the Mets right now. That's the worst. It's literally the worst situation I think I've ever seen in sports outside of like every year of the Cleveland Browns surrounding the Baker Mayfield year. Their team, their roster is as bad as the Browns right now. Because they're saddled on a fucking Soto contract who refuses to play with another star player. And
Alex Boyajian (37:23.009)
So Juan Soto is Deshaun Watson.
John Siebels (37:25.828)
Yeah, without the rape.
Caleb Williams (37:27.162)
Wanted on the record.
John Siebels (37:29.094)
But what he's doing to the New York Mets is almost as bad.
Alex Boyajian (37:30.999)
Ha ha.
John Siebels (37:36.069)
Is it the worst contract ever?
Caleb Williams (37:36.425)
Yeah that Nah. Kyle Tucker, come on. I mean he doesn't Kyle Tucker doesn't have the long term aspect of it, but
Alex Boyajian (37:43.105)
Has that had enough time though? Have we had enough time for that?
John Siebels (37:45.062)
No, and and the Dodgers are still two games out of first pla like overall first place in the National League. So Soto was supposed to
Caleb Williams (37:53.183)
I it's not like Soto's been horrible this year.
Alex Boyajian (37:54.39)
I mean it's it is Deshaun Watson or Juan Soto in the worst contract of all time.
John Siebels (37:56.701)
But he's an asshole. Deshaun Watson's an asshole. I mean, Soto is an asshole. He didn't do any massage stuff, but he's an asshole. Deshaun Watson is a different kind of asshole. Do I support him as a player? No. Do I support him as a as a client if I ran a massage parlor? Certainly. However, he spent a lot of money there. cut it out. no, but the contract's as bad. Nobody will
Alex Boyajian (38:03.605)
Wait, so you're saying Deshaun Watson is not an asshole. You s you support Deshaun Watson.
Alex Boyajian (38:25.623)
I didn't make you say that I did not make you say that shit.
John Siebels (38:27.676)
Yes you did. You had it on the cue card. You wrote the script.
John Siebels (38:36.624)
no Soto's the worst contract ever because nobody expected the Browns to win a Super Bowl with Deshaun Watson. Raise your hand if you thought the Browns would have success with Deshaun Watson. Kevin Coster's yeah, in draft day? No, he passed on the quarterback. who thought the Mets would probably be pretty good with Soto?
Caleb Williams (38:42.481)
Yeah.
Alex Boyajian (38:45.889)
Kevin Costner did.
Caleb Williams (38:56.647)
Think everyone did.
Alex Boyajian (38:57.943)
I mean I I thought it would be yeah. I didn't think it'd be this bad.
John Siebels (38:58.012)
Yeah, so that's what makes it worse. The expectations and the letdown. No, nobody thought it'd be this bad.
Caleb Williams (39:03.133)
But I I don't think it's Soto's it's not Soto's fault fully. I mean he's not exactly great in the clubhouse from what the reports have been, but he hasn't had under a nine hundred OPS since he's been in New York. It's not like he's the one
John Siebels (39:15.196)
But you you need more than one superstar to to we need more than one star player to win the major leagues. And if Soto refuses to play with other superstars because he thinks it's his show, then that's a big issue for a franchise. Who's gonna come in and play with Soto? When Lindor says, Give me the fuck out of here, who's gonna sign up to play with Soto?
Caleb Williams (39:36.486)
Someone who wants a whole lot of money and doesn't care about that stuff. Which probably probably doesn't factor into the winning, but I I I don't see it as being Soto's fault. I don't think it's a great contract. I wouldn't have been happy if the Red Sox gave Juan Soto that kind of contract, but I I don't think he's the the problem child here.
John Siebels (39:40.164)
Doesn't care about winning, exactly. 'Cause they're never gonna win.
Alex Boyajian (40:00.748)
Juan Soto with the New York Mets, two hundred and forty four games, eight point eight war. what are we looking here? sixty four home runs.
John Siebels (40:09.095)
Not great.
Alex Boyajian (40:15.576)
270 batting average, 400 on base percentage, 530 slug.
Caleb Williams (40:20.645)
Forty five stone bases.
John Siebels (40:21.007)
Is he a phenomenal player? Yes. He's pure talent among like the best players we've seen in my lifetime. Pure talent. In my lifetime a little longer than you guys is. but there's a lot of great players who never win because they're bad teammates. For what? Where's the value? They were awful.
Alex Boyajian (40:37.922)
Third in the MVP race last year.
Alex Boyajian (40:45.888)
I'm just saying I'm just saying. I'm just saying. I'm not I don't have a vote. You think I have a vote?
John Siebels (40:47.313)
Go back to go back to teams records since the beginning of the twenty twenty five season.
John Siebels (40:54.531)
I I should
Caleb Williams (40:55.525)
Damn near forty forty year last year. I I you can't you can't say he was detrimental to the team.
Alex Boyajian (40:59.33)
Silver slugger. Silver slugger last year.
John Siebels (41:06.247)
Okay.
Alex Boyajian (41:06.474)
Actually that was the second year in a row he was third in MVP voting. Fun fact.
John Siebels (41:12.103)
He'll never win one.
Caleb Williams (41:14.821)
I was showing, you know.
Alex Boyajian (41:18.572)
Alright, that's a good place to wrap up this segment. Let's move to the next one.
Alright, that was pretty contentious, I like it.
Caleb Williams (41:27.929)
All right, I'm about to piss my pants.
Alex Boyajian (41:29.942)
Okay.
John Siebels (41:30.105)
Yeah. I need a pea. Yeah, I've been I drank a lot of Coke Zero today at school.
Alex Boyajian (41:36.504)
Hate Cock Zero.
John Siebels (41:37.785)
I fucking love Coke Zero. I also need to check on the kids, make sure they're not carrying each other to pieces.
Alex Boyajian (41:40.194)
Coke Zero sucks.
John Siebels (42:49.255)
Okay, cogsuckers. God, I fucking hate Caleb.
Alex Boyajian (42:53.272)
All right, we can we can this topic is a calm down topic.
Caleb Williams (42:57.579)
How about you suck me from the back, you bitch?
Alex Boyajian (42:59.362)
The NFL.
John Siebels (43:01.241)
You can't even tuck it between your legs.
Caleb Williams (43:03.677)
Ha ha ha.
Alex Boyajian (43:04.559)
Ha ha ha.
Caleb Williams (43:08.0)
Throw that on the blooper highlight reel.
Alex Boyajian (43:11.66)
That should be the podcast and you know, maybe that'll be like the show announcement for the week.
Caleb Williams (43:19.476)
They addly rushed they addly they addly rushed him back. It was probably the funniest thing I've ever fucking said.
Alex Boyajian (43:19.906)
Brand new podcast out now.
No, that's g that's an independent clip. That's an independent clip.
John Siebels (43:29.226)
now I need a zinger. do the Wiener Holocaust. People would love that.
Caleb Williams (43:33.835)
Ha ha.
John Siebels (43:36.497)
Hoping my wife gives me a Wiener Holocaust tonight.
Caleb Williams (43:39.582)
Alex Boyajian (43:42.764)
Golf it!
John Siebels (43:42.833)
What was that movie w was it Cannibal Holocaust was the movie? Fucking movie where people were like throwing up in the theaters and stuff.
Caleb Williams (43:53.568)
Boy in the white pajamas.
Alex Boyajian (43:55.864)
No, that's just incredibly sad.
John Siebels (43:55.964)
Dude, the boy that's tryed. I got in big trouble in high school because there was a Jewish girl that sat next to me in America in world history. And they made us they made us watch the movie, and there's a scene where they show like all the dead people, and I went, Psst, do you know any of them? And I got in big trouble.
Alex Boyajian (44:06.264)
I know exactly what you said.
John Siebels (44:18.875)
Big trouble. Worth it.
Caleb Williams (44:20.182)
know if Mike hated me or not, but I I made a Hasidic Jews joke at the at the start of our recording and I felt like he was kinda weirded out by that one.
John Siebels (44:27.951)
Is Mike a Jew? Is is Mike a Jew?
Alex Boyajian (44:28.171)
No that's just Mike.
Caleb Williams (44:31.369)
No, okay.
Alex Boyajian (44:32.983)
That's literally yeah, Mike's Mike is Jewish. He's not a practicing Jew.
Caleb Williams (44:37.363)
Okay.
John Siebels (44:37.733)
Well then so he's not Jewish.
Alex Boyajian (44:40.299)
He's like he was like born Jewish. And he looks Jewish.
Caleb Williams (44:42.088)
I forget the joke I made, but I I
John Siebels (44:45.467)
Okay, but the whole thing that that you can be ethnically Jewish is bullshit just to get Jews more protections than other rel religions in the United States in like the nineteen sixties. You can't be ethnically a religion. That's not a real thing. You're either a religion you're either that religion or you're fucking not.
Alex Boyajian (45:00.813)
What the fuck do you want me to say? What the fuck do you want me to do? about five minutes of NFL.
John Siebels (45:05.137)
Sorry, I'm very anti Semitic. What's our next topic?
John Siebels (45:13.797)
Okay.
Alex Boyajian (45:14.691)
Just to get us just to get us just to get it st you gotta keep the NFL in the lexicon.
'Cause it is preseason. I can't like avoid 'cause there is active NFL going on. All right.
John Siebels (45:23.815)
Okay, let me see.
Caleb Williams (45:26.836)
I'm out of the loop. Try not to throw it to me.
John Siebels (45:31.13)
Well
Alex Boyajian (45:31.364)
We're going to Caleb for the NFL topic. No, I'm just kidding. football is back. well I said that last week, it's been back. but we have training camp fights. That's that's usually like the main news. I I love the preseason when we get to this point. Because you really one, you don't want to hear any news about your team, because usually it's bad. It's like this guy fucking tore his Achilles on a walkthrough. there's a fight which
someone someone on ESPN I Lewis Riddick like bitching about training camp fights, saying it's unprofessional. What are we doing here? This is football. That's that's the point. You're supposed to hit each other and you're supposed to get you're supposed to get a little angry. That gets you juiced up. Am I wrong?
John Siebels (46:19.352)
It's the point. And that's isn't that the point of like the the shared training camps where like two NFL teams train together? Isn't the point to get fight clips for like Twitter? Or do they actually play football?
Alex Boyajian (46:29.719)
You would think so. I love I love the dichotomy of team like if you're a good team and you get into a fight, everyone's like, yeah. They're they're like they're fucking ready to go. They're getting fired up. If you're a bad team, they're like, that coach needs to get on that shit. That's unacceptable. They could have the exact same type of fight. What like the the Saints and the Cowboys fought today. son of WWE Hall of Famer Scott Steiner
body slammed a Cowboys player today in the middle of a fight. Which is fucking sick. That's awesome. The Forty Niners and Titans had four fights in ten minutes last week. Which is like
John Siebels (47:00.804)
Just like his dad. Just like his old man.
John Siebels (47:11.898)
Now is it four separate fights or is it a continuation of a fight?
Alex Boyajian (47:15.319)
I think it was I think it was like break up a fight, another fight, break that up, another fight, break that up.
John Siebels (47:24.142)
I love it. I love it.
Alex Boyajian (47:25.143)
I think that's what it was. The Bucks and Jets had a fight, maybe the saddest. That's anytime the Jets get into a fight, it's sad. Cause there's just never there's never like a positive reason for the Jets to be in a fight.
John Siebels (47:34.843)
Mean
John Siebels (47:41.272)
unless you're defending Mark Sanchez's honor after the butt fumble. Have the Jets have the Jets done anything since the butt fumble?
Alex Boyajian (47:45.878)
Or the stabbing.
Caleb Williams (47:51.576)
They haven't won a playoff game since that year, I think, or the year before.
John Siebels (47:52.487)
In fifty years are we gonna be talking about the curse of the Mark Sanchez butt fumble? Is that gonna be like as big of a deal as the curse of the Bambino? Do you remember when it was the not top play on ESPN for like six months straight and they had to retire it? They had to retire a not top ten play 'cause was that bad.
Alex Boyajian (48:12.611)
I think that's that might have been when ESPN went a little too far. The integrity of the not top play is.
John Siebels (48:17.262)
Yeah. But
Caleb Williams (48:17.357)
I'm sure with recent events with Mark Sanchez they probably can't show it.
Alex Boyajian (48:23.339)
The integrity of the not top le well, ESPN doesn't have any integrity because they didn't cover fucking Rossini and and Vrabel. Caleb, you didn't get to hear you didn't get to hear my hot take last week about how coaches shouldn't f coaches shouldn't have, you know, sexual congress with reporters that are covering them.
John Siebels (48:23.451)
Yeah.
John Siebels (48:30.528)
He's winning games, Alex. He's winning games.
Caleb Williams (48:34.115)
Brabel's innocent. Brabel's innocent.
Caleb Williams (48:41.603)
There was no proof of penetration.
John Siebels (48:45.186)
I didn't inhale. Is that like Bill Clinton? I didn't inhale the weed. If they were d if they were talking strategy.
Alex Boyajian (48:47.885)
Do you think they should have been at a resort together? While married?
Caleb Williams (48:51.887)
Probably
Morally probably not. I mean, unless there's
Alex Boyajian (48:56.033)
Why would a reporter be there?
John Siebels (48:58.5)
Because she's got the she's got the the scoop. She's got the poop on the other teams.
Alex Boyajian (49:05.503)
Exactly, that is incredibly immoral.
John Siebels (49:09.092)
Well, I mean, did the Patriots not film other teams' practices?
Caleb Williams (49:16.077)
What twenty years ago?
John Siebels (49:16.112)
Do we know they were okay? Was was he winning football games?
Alex Boyajian (49:16.451)
Caleb. Caleb.
Caleb Williams (49:24.077)
This year, yeah. It was.
John Siebels (49:25.498)
Yep, he won games. You're allowed to have sex with reporters that aren't your wife if you're winning football games. Once again, if you went six and eleven, pack your fucking bags. Go live at a hotel.
Alex Boyajian (49:33.207)
Yeah, is he fired, Caleb? As as the official Patriots representative of this podcast, is he fired?
Caleb Williams (49:39.456)
If th if they go six and eleven and they can find a reason to, yeah, that if they find that reason to probably.
Alex Boyajian (49:46.606)
Would they go two coach would Robert Kraft go three coaches in three seasons? Actually it'd be four because if you count Belichick one season, Mayo, Vrabel, and then your next head coach. Mike McCarthy. Theoretically.
Caleb Williams (50:01.311)
I mean, I guess it kind of I'm not I'm not as as tapped in on on how much information Vrabel's gotten from Roussini in in their affair. I don't know, whatever you call it. But if if there is some kind of yeah, if there is some kind of proof of of insider trading bullcrap, then yeah, get him out. If there's not.
John Siebels (50:04.698)
Curse.
Alex Boyajian (50:05.962)
Ha ha ha.
Alex Boyajian (50:17.878)
Affair. They had an affair. It's a it's a it's an affair.
John Siebels (50:21.359)
If
John Siebels (50:29.306)
Do you call Tom Brady? Do you call Tom Brady? Why? No no no no no.
Caleb Williams (50:29.357)
I don't know, maybe he's just a bad person. God, no. No. Brady does not care.
Alex Boyajian (50:34.318)
To fix the marriage.
No, to fix the marriage, do you call Tom Brady to fix the marriage? The patriot way.
Caleb Williams (50:40.917)
I d I I think Brady is the last person I call if I wanna save my marriage.
John Siebels (50:41.456)
Fuck now.
John Siebels (50:46.436)
Yeah. I'm talking about the coaching, Alex. Why would Brady not be a good coach?
Caleb Williams (50:52.557)
'Cause he hates the Patriots now.
Alex Boyajian (50:53.902)
Because he owns the Raiders.
John Siebels (50:56.794)
Yeah, but sell your fucking stake of the Raiders and be a head coach.
Alex Boyajian (50:59.534)
He's not gonna do that. That would be an incredibly poor financial decision.
Caleb Williams (51:00.447)
I don't think he would do that. Not not for not for Robert Kraft. He's not doing that now.
John Siebels (51:02.244)
Well, with them going to Vegas, with them just going to Vegas.
John Siebels (51:08.41)
That makes sense. What if Robert Robert Kraft died?
Caleb Williams (51:12.907)
Then then Jonathan Kraft probably takes over. And I don't think Brady feels too great about him either.
John Siebels (51:20.698)
Tyler Tolbert about to tie this shit up.
Alex Boyajian (51:21.038)
Would he transfer ownership to Tom Brady?
John Siebels (51:25.285)
He could afford it.
Caleb Williams (51:25.491)
I don't know. Tom Brady hates the Patriots.
John Siebels (51:29.176)
He wouldn't hate the Patriots if he owned them.
Caleb Williams (51:32.6)
I he wouldn't own them because he hates them.
John Siebels (51:37.028)
Why wouldn't you want to buy the team you hate and fix it and put statues yourself up everywhere and name the stadium after yourself? And take down all the robber and take down all the Robert Kraft stuff. Take down all the Robert Kraft stuff everywhere in the offices, put yourself up. That's the best, absolute best like comeback of all time.
Alex Boyajian (51:44.088)
He's about fifty percent of the way there. He's already got the statue.
Caleb Williams (51:44.105)
Because he
Caleb Williams (51:57.503)
He he just feels too much like they slighted him and he doesn't feel as loved as he should be, even though he is. I don't know. The whole thing in twenty twenty one or twenty twenty, whenever it was with Kraft and Belichick, I think that just left the worst taste in his mouth. I I don't see him coming back ever.
Alex Boyajian (52:15.736)
He wouldn't he wouldn't be Jackie Mo he wouldn't be the next Jackie Moon. The NFL's Jackie Moon.
Caleb Williams (52:19.347)
It it took them till this year to get Brady on the broadcast for Page Reeds game. he he wouldn't he wouldn't take a side in the Super Bowl, which I I guarantee you if you pull most legendary quarterbacks for a franchise, if their franchise is in the Super Bowl, they're taking their their team that they won six Super Bowls with.
Alex Boyajian (52:40.974)
Did Montana did Montana root for Kansas City or San Francisco?
John Siebels (52:46.201)
San Francisco. He's barely a chief. He's literally barely a chief. He doesn't need to.
Caleb Williams (52:48.669)
Easily San Francisco.
Alex Boyajian (52:50.564)
Did he say it? Did he say it? Did he say that?
Caleb Williams (52:54.035)
I didn't see it, but that that's obvious, I think.
Alex Boyajian (52:56.696)
Yeah, but he was in Kansas City at the end of his career. He he that was he wa he wanted to be in Kansas City. He didn't want to be in San Francisco. He was forced to go there.
John Siebels (52:57.367)
He's he's not he's not really a chief.
Caleb Williams (53:03.194)
If the Super Bowl this year was somehow Bucks Pat If the Super Bowl somehow this year was Bucks Patriots, Brady would pick the Bucks. I genuinely feel. Like it feels like he resonates more with Tampa than he does with New England at this point. Which I don't care. I don't w the Patriots fans don't owe him shit, but it sucks.
John Siebels (53:04.015)
Well, because of Steve Young.
Visit Steve Young.
John Siebels (53:27.651)
I'm looking up who Mont Montana picked.
Alex Boyajian (53:33.316)
And that was Talkin NFL with chaotically intolerant. Let's move on to the next segment.
John Siebels (53:39.683)
He playfully refused to pick a side. Joe Montana, by the way. He is a fucking pussy.
Alex Boyajian (53:44.762)
Pussy.
Caleb Williams (53:45.734)
He still had San Fran though. Guaranteed. He just wouldn't say it publicly.
John Siebels (53:50.106)
Yeah.
Alex Boyajian (53:50.17)
Pussy. Fucking pussy. Alright, what?
Caleb Williams (53:52.818)
But that's like that shit's like if Rogers was seeing a Packers Super Bowl against like I don't know the Bills. And he's like, I don't know, I don't know which side I'm gonna take. I I I like both sides. Like, shut up. Fuck you. Roger, like it didn't happen, but like if if that did happen, you're thinking, what the fuck?
Alex Boyajian (54:08.174)
Who? Rogers?
John Siebels (54:09.999)
Fuck Aaron Rodgers.
John Siebels (54:16.165)
Alright boys, I hate to be a buzzkill, but I gotta get the kids start and go to bed at like nine, so kinda gotta run.
Alex Boyajian (54:21.634)
Okay. We'll roll the rest of this should be pretty quick. do you have your sunglasses in front of you?
John Siebels (54:25.228)
I c excuse my opinion in the draft.
Caleb Williams (54:30.632)
Yeah, I gotta roll like nine fifteen that's when a taco bell gets here.
Alex Boyajian (54:34.914)
Okay, we'll be good then. We'll
Caleb Williams (54:36.665)
AK that's when my girl that's when my girlfriend gets back from her dance practice and brings me Taco Bell.
John Siebels (54:36.953)
That's actually even a
talk, I get it now.
Alex Boyajian (54:43.95)
We'll we'll roll through excuse our
Caleb Williams (54:45.31)
well is that is that a John, is that a joke 'cause she's Hispanic or what? The fuck?
Alex Boyajian (54:55.0)
He means her vagina.
John Siebels (54:56.931)
Yeah, you're gonna consume her taco.
Caleb Williams (54:59.15)
John hears about a Spanish girl and just automatically assumes it's Taco Bell. Crazy.
Alex Boyajian (55:03.31)
Racist.
John Siebels (55:03.425)
I only dated one Hispanic girl and she was fucking crazy.
Caleb Williams (55:07.59)
I've dated too and they're both crazy.
Alex Boyajian (55:08.046)
We'll do We'll do Excuse Our Opinion. Marilyn Spotlight, we kind of covered that already. I might just like cut that and put it at the end. If that fits, I don't know if it'll fit. and then
John Siebels (55:11.449)
Ha ha.
Caleb Williams (55:23.135)
Have a good hot take. My hot take's fucking stupid, but
John Siebels (55:27.033)
Mine is actually pretty good, I think.
Caleb Williams (55:29.378)
Mine is stupid, but I stand by it. And it's probably very unpopular.
Alex Boyajian (55:35.212)
And then we'll do the snake draft. So no Maryland spotlight, so we'll go right into this into the snake draft. This like we'll di Shut up. We'll do this will be like three minutes per take, so that'll just cut it down. Well it'll be like ten minutes tops. And then we'll have time for the snake draft. All right.
Caleb Williams (55:39.782)
Fuck Maryland.
Alex Boyajian (55:56.507)
Alright, this is when the intro is rolling, 'cause we're we're rolling Electric Avenue at this time, 'cause this is a part of my take ripoff.
Alex Boyajian (56:07.086)
Alright, welcome back to the show that is not inspired by PTI. Caleb.
John Siebels (56:13.507)
I just wanna remind the audience that we had this idea first and refuse to act on it.
Alex Boyajian (56:18.67)
Yeah, like twenty sixteen. When Harambe died. Caleb, what is your opinion? I what opinion should we excuse?
Caleb Williams (56:30.367)
I don't know about it. you're making me go first. That's crazy.
Alex Boyajian (56:34.778)
Ha ha.
Caleb Williams (56:36.343)
The MLB needs another big knuckleballer. I'm not talking about Matt Waldron, who makes some spot starts. And I'm not talking about Ryan. Yeah, I'm talking about Wakefield, Dickey, Phil Necro, Charlie Huff. We need one more.
Alex Boyajian (56:42.66)
That's not crazy at all.
John Siebels (56:45.529)
Talk about Wakefield.
Caleb Williams (56:54.445)
Doug knuckleballer. I'm not talking about a a Psy young guy. I need a guy who will give me two hundred innings and will fit in the three four slot of a rotation for maybe a contending team.
John Siebels (57:04.227)
I've got the guy. I know who the guy is. Paul Skeens lost all his velocity. Teach him how to throw a fucking knuckleball.
Caleb Williams (57:08.535)
What do we got?
Caleb Williams (57:14.317)
I he's learned every other pitch under the sun the last couple of years. So like can't hurt. Yeah, he hit ninety-seven today.
John Siebels (57:17.079)
It can't throw above ninety six miles an hour.
John Siebels (57:22.853)
Impressive.
Yeah, fix that.
Caleb Williams (57:31.888)
see more of the knuckleball the knuckleball frequency i want to see it is it's fading it was something that was super cool in the early 2000s and 90s
Alex Boyajian (57:38.23)
I think it's the fullback. I feel like it's the fullback equivalent.
Alex Boyajian (57:44.996)
But the fullback's coming back. The fullback is coming back big time.
John Siebels (57:51.297)
As teams run the ball more. And as same concept, as guys figure out how to hit ninety eight to a hundred 'cause they see it so often, now you gotta combat that. Bring a knuckleballer. Teach everybody how to throw one.
Alex Boyajian (58:02.617)
Well, I think also teams I think teams are remembering big fat guy, make him run into little guys, big fat guy wins.
Caleb Williams (58:15.189)
I wanna see more of those those close up slow motion camera angles of the knuckleball. Yeah. Of the stuff you'd see was
Alex Boyajian (58:15.279)
Pretty simple.
John Siebels (58:15.662)
No, I
Alex Boyajian (58:20.335)
The dancing. Yeah. Yeah. We have the great camera technology. This is the prime time to to get that. To get the
John Siebels (58:29.027)
By the way, I waited on R.A. Dickey at one point, served him his dinner. He's the most fucking knuckleballer, knuckleballer of all time. You know they say knuckleballers are a little bit strange. R. A. Dickey's kind of a strange guy. But in like the best possible way. He's awesome.
Caleb Williams (58:44.442)
He's been in a couple Zoom meetings with me and and I saw him out at one of our practices in college. He's definitely a knuckleballer. Like personality. He's he's a funny guy. No, he came up as a top prospect throwing like ninety seven. He was a I think he was a first round pick for the Rangers.
John Siebels (58:53.881)
But he didn't come up as a knuckleballer, am I right? He learned the knuckleball.
John Siebels (59:02.585)
Hold on, top prospect throwing gas learns a knuckleball? Paul Skins. Sounds a lot like Paul Skins.
Alex Boyajian (59:09.455)
Sounds like Paul Skins. Paul Skins got exposed for being fat. I feel like a lot of knuckleballers are usually heavier guys.
John Siebels (59:17.761)
It's all lining up. You heard it here first. Okay, my take? Let's get serious. My h up we don't do takes, we do opinions. My my opinion is that the MLB does not miss a single regular season game due to the lockout.
Alex Boyajian (59:19.225)
He's got the body style for a knuckleballer.
John Siebels (59:37.357)
And I think right now both the players association and the owners would say, Absolutely we're gonna miss a game or two.
Alex Boyajian (59:43.169)
I think
Alex Boyajian (59:47.193)
I think it can happen.
John Siebels (59:48.963)
It's posturing. It's both sides
Alex Boyajian (59:51.223)
I think you need you can't the Dodgers just can't win.
John Siebels (59:55.683)
But both sides need as much leverage as possible. And the leverage they have right now is we're gonna miss a bunch of games. It's the other guy's fault. The closer we get to the regular season, of course, fans, I think fans are gonna be on the side of the players. Fuck the owners, they're all billionaires, they can afford it. The closer it gets, I'm gonna be on whoever's side. By the time we get close, I'm on whichever side is gonna give us baseball games.
Caleb Williams (59:57.988)
Yeah.
Caleb Williams (01:00:09.804)
I'm gonna come.
Alex Boyajian (01:00:13.731)
I think it's gonna be closer to fifty fifty than you think.
John Siebels (01:00:21.58)
And I think once one side or another loses a great deal of support, then they'll hammer it out. I don't think they're as far apart as they're saying they are. Players don't want a salary cap, owners say there must be a salary cap. Everything else they'll be able to meet in the middle. higher pay for minor leaguers, less options, more guarantees for guys who are on the roster X amount of games in terms of more yes, we need it.
Alex Boyajian (01:00:47.023)
More steroids.
John Siebels (01:00:51.324)
even though, I mean, Fernando Tatis tried to sort of, you know, slow roll that back and it w didn't go over well. I think he was trying to get that started. Didn't happen. Unless it really was ringworm cream. but I think what you need to do is
Alex Boyajian (01:01:09.807)
He does live in San Diego, people walk around barefoot all the time there. That would make sense.
Caleb Williams (01:01:11.178)
Okay, I'm from it.
John Siebels (01:01:13.012)
true. I don't know. I've never had ringworm. I walk around barefoot a lot. I think the first thing the owners need to do is agree to more revenue sharing across the league, including on local networks. LA's local network having to share a little bit with the small markets. You get that done. Owners of all markets can afford to pay more. Therefore, the salary cap might not be that big of a need. If you give the concessions on the major league service time and things like that, I think the players would accept.
a salary floor, and I think they would accept max contracts. In which case, I mean, let the Dodgers sign a bunch of max contracts. but at least it does add a little bit more of a competitive nature to signings, especially for smaller market teams, if you get them the benefit of allowing a six year deal instead of a five year deal like the NBA. And I think it gets worked out by the beginning of March. In my opinion.
Alex Boyajian (01:02:08.293)
Kettle. Kettle.
Caleb Williams (01:02:11.261)
I I think we're missing games next year. I mean I I would prefer if they didn't, obviously, but it seems like both sides are kind of very heavily set on what they believe in in terms of the salary cap. we saw
John Siebels (01:02:25.368)
How many games?
Caleb Williams (01:02:29.12)
I don't I d I don't know enough about the inside conversations to really it it that's kind of the estimation is a month or two is a month or two, but I saw Jeff Pass and saying there's a chance maybe there's no games played, like these two sides are this it would crush it, it would ruin the league.
Alex Boyajian (01:02:33.423)
I think they miss a month of regular season games.
John Siebels (01:02:46.712)
It would destroy the MLB.
Alex Boyajian (01:02:50.063)
That's a loss for everyone. It's not just the owners. I think I think they need yeah, they need to fucking pull their pants down, just show each other their small dicks, and just say we both suck. Let's just figure this the fuck out and let's play some baseball.
Caleb Williams (01:03:05.056)
They're just both being stubborn on both sides. I from what I read, it does not seem like either side is really budging. So I
John Siebels (01:03:12.344)
But we haven't even gotten to crunch time yet. W once we get to December, then sides will start to budge. Because the the wealthiest players are f we'll be fine. They'll be fine. It's when your middle of the road guys start going to the union and saying, Let's figure this out. Because they're all part of the union. They should all get an equal say. And if you have eighty percent of the league saying, I can't afford to miss a whole year of pay, like Otani and Harper and Judge and those guys can.
Caleb Williams (01:03:19.389)
We'll see, but
John Siebels (01:03:40.91)
Then the pressure gets on. And if you're one of the representatives from a player association and you're one of the rich guys, do you wanna be the guy that caused a lot of your young teammates to miss paychecks? Even if you can convince them that it's for the it's for the best in the future. Guys wanna get paid.
Alex Boyajian (01:04:02.244)
Alright. Alright. My take. I I think all sports teams should be publicly owned. Like the Packers. And I think every owner, every o it should be like a stock and you should be paid dividends at the end of the year. I think having having a team
John Siebels (01:04:25.464)
I would be very interested.
Alex Boyajian (01:04:28.838)
That has a city on it. You are representing the city or representing the people of that city or that state. I think they should essentially I mean, i these fucking teams they use publicly funded stadiums anyways. It's it's the people's stuff, anyways, and and I think plenty of fans are sick of their owners. I think you look at even really good teams who are really successful and they're like, Yeah, fuck the owner. Who gives a fuck about the owner? What fan base loves their owner? Like
Truly loves their owner.
They make enough money. The NFL is basically socialist. Who?
John Siebels (01:05:03.916)
Maybe the Yankees in the late nineties, early two thousands with Steinbrenner. Maybe the Yankees in the late nineties, early two thousands with Steinbrenner.
Alex Boyajian (01:05:11.662)
Yankees fans, they love Steinbetter. They could vote him in and and he's the he's the CEO. Vote him run it just like a company.
John Siebels (01:05:17.422)
How about if you take public funding, then the city gets a share of your team, you can buy it back, but until you've p repaid the public funds that you've received, forty percent of the team becomes publicly owned. And you can buy it back.
Alex Boyajian (01:05:34.554)
No, because then that just goes to the fucking city council or or whoever and they all suck. I don't want to give it to the politicians. I wanna give it to individual people. F actual fans who actually care. Cause like I know people laugh.
John Siebels (01:05:41.88)
The fans. Yeah.
Well then make make sell forty percent of the team. If if if you're getting two billion dollars and your team's worth five billion dollars, make sell forty percent of the team to raise the funds.
Alex Boyajian (01:05:55.899)
People do laugh, but there is no sports without fans. Without fans going to spend money and go to games and shit like that. So it's just they already are. You should just I think fans should be rewarded for it. Like you have fans like the Royals who sit for 30 years and don't win a World Series. They are loyal fans for 30 years and then they finally win in 2015. Granted, it was like the cheapest World Series of all time, but it was a World Series. Caleb?
John Siebels (01:06:22.081)
That's fucking bullshit. That was legitimately one of the best That's the best small market team we've seen in our lifetime.
Alex Boyajian (01:06:25.092)
Okay.
John Siebels (01:06:32.087)
We were fucking loaded and we made every right move that season, so fucking pound sand.
Caleb Williams (01:06:32.899)
I don't know. I that one kinda throws me off 'cause a a t a team like the Rays, like a smaller fan base, clearly don't show up to the games regardless if it's gonna be in Tampa or St. Pete, whatever. I
Alex Boyajian (01:06:36.348)
Keep
Alex Boyajian (01:06:51.388)
But then you got a cheap stock price.
Alex Boyajian (01:06:56.57)
Lower income people can afford to get in there.
John Siebels (01:06:56.683)
I would buy a piece of the rays. I'd buy a piece of the rays if it was available. Just to put a little certificate. Just a certificate right here. Like one fiftieth of one percent owner of the raise.
Caleb Williams (01:07:02.637)
It would be that easy to
Alex Boyajian (01:07:10.512)
I mean the Packers is like pretty ceremonial. Like you you don't really like do anything if you're a Packers owner. I think that you should get a dividend. Give a dividend.
Few tickets a year.
John Siebels (01:07:21.311)
I want I want my dividend to be one text from Bobby Wood Jr. Like, Hey man, have a good day. I hope you have a good day today.
Alex Boyajian (01:07:28.634)
I want my dividend to be one trillion dollars. One tr I want Shohay's contract.
John Siebels (01:07:35.276)
Okay, Elon.
Alex Boyajian (01:07:37.564)
Alright, and we're gonna move on to our final topic. Alright, John was not in the snake draft last week, so I'm gonna let you pick your spot.
John Siebels (01:07:48.929)
I'm gonna need my notebook.
Caleb Williams (01:07:49.357)
I don't know if I don't know if my audio's being fucked up, but it's currently saying uploading will notif notify you when it's done.
Alex Boyajian (01:07:58.417)
You sound fine. And you're still recording.
Caleb Williams (01:08:01.184)
Okay, as long as my audio will actually transition 'cause I know it's been fucked up with Riverside before, but when my girlfriend called me that
Alex Boyajian (01:08:08.56)
Yeah, everything sounds fine.
John Siebels (01:08:08.705)
I've always been able to fix yours.
I've always been able to fix yours, Caleb. It's not really that bad. Wait, Alex, who's going in middle? Who's going in the middle?
Caleb Williams (01:08:16.279)
All right, fantastic.
Alex Boyajian (01:08:22.926)
No, you gotta pick yours. You get to you get the choice. It doesn't you don't know who goes in the middle.
John Siebels (01:08:26.711)
Okay, but we're not recording yet, so you're gonna cut this. I'm asking for my thing, who's going in the middle? It's me then Pff I wanna write it down. Alright, I'm gonna start with And I have two movies I really want, but I don't think either of you guys are gonna pick
Alex Boyajian (01:08:31.61)
No, I I'm writing it down.
Alex Boyajian (01:08:41.7)
No no no no no no no no no What spot are you taking? What spot are you taking in the draft? This is going in the show
John Siebels (01:08:45.283)
John Siebels (01:08:52.673)
Let me take I'm trying to think I'm trying to think what you guys will take. I don't think either you guys will take my first pick. So I'm gonna go second.
Alex Boyajian (01:09:03.925)
my g that's worse than Harold Baines.
John Siebels (01:09:07.221)
It's not
Alex Boyajian (01:09:10.218)
Caleb, I'll let you pick. 'Cause I'm the host.
Caleb Williams (01:09:15.722)
that's tough. I don't have a solidified one one.
John Siebels (01:09:19.329)
That's why I didn't take one one.
Alex Boyajian (01:09:20.73)
What spot are y yeah, what spot are you taking? Not your movie, your spot in the trap. No, I just I just wanna make that abundantly clear.
Caleb Williams (01:09:25.77)
I know. I
Caleb Williams (01:09:32.853)
Man, I think I I gotta go one just 'cause I have two in mind and I don't want both of them to get taken.
John Siebels (01:09:40.503)
Well, I didn't want Caleb right behind me because I know Alex with his number one pick is gonna take like Mickey Mouse plays baseball. similar to his Harold Baines. Airbud, not a bad pick.
Caleb Williams (01:09:49.942)
Mm-hmm. Air bun.
Alex Boyajian (01:09:53.338)
The the the Kansas City Royal story?
John Siebels (01:09:57.016)
Great the twenty fifteen movie, by the way, phenomenal.
Alex Boyajian (01:09:59.823)
Yeah, Mickey Mouse plays baseball at the twenty fifteen Kansas City Royals story.
John Siebels (01:10:03.469)
Phenomenal. Well f fucking Mickey Mouse I guess is Lorenzo Kane in that case, but greatest center fielder of all time.
Alex Boyajian (01:10:12.847)
Anyways, Caleb, your first pick. You are on the clock.
John Siebels (01:10:17.249)
You are on the clock.
Caleb Williams (01:10:20.337)
See, I'm torn between a a fantastic movie that I do actually religiously watch and just an absolute classic. But I think I gotta go with the classic one one because this is there's no way you can criticize this for going one one. I'm going to go the sand lot. not much you can say. Childhood movie growing up, Benny the Jet, one of the greatest athletes we've ever seen.
John Siebels (01:10:47.049)
I mocked this. In my mock I had Sandlock going in the in the middle of the second or third round, to be honest. yeah, I mocked. I mocked, yeah.
Alex Boyajian (01:10:52.583)
Did you did you mock you mocked this?
Caleb Williams (01:10:54.099)
Nah, nah, Sanlot's Sanlot's top three. It's a it's a classic. We all grew up. Everyone who has ever associated themselves with baseball in their life has watched the sandlot. Everyone knows the beast. Everyone knows Squints. Everyone knows Benny the Jet.
Alex Boyajian (01:11:05.668)
At least ten times. At least ten times.
John Siebels (01:11:05.869)
Cool. I'll cool. I'll take Field of Dreams. I want Field of Dreams. I want Field of Dreams before before something happens and I lose it. Give me Field of Dreams.
Caleb Williams (01:11:17.652)
See, I had that middle of the second round.
John Siebels (01:11:19.939)
'Cause you're a fucking idiot, that's why.
John Siebels (01:11:24.524)
Alex is gonna take like chasing three thousand with Bernie Mac.
Alex Boyajian (01:11:24.669)
Boy, where do I go?
What do I go? I do love that movie. That movie's like that movie is not bad whatsoever.
Caleb Williams (01:11:29.404)
Ha ha ha.
John Siebels (01:11:32.563)
I bet you do. I bet you love it.
Caleb Williams (01:11:33.019)
It's a terrible movie. Terrible movie.
Alex Boyajian (01:11:35.149)
I mean it's like baseball wise it's not great, but it's an enjoyable movie. You tell you're telling me Bernie Mac you're telling me a Bernie Mac movie is not good? Bernie Mac is great. I'm going the natural, Robert Redford.
John Siebels (01:11:41.271)
Just take two movies.
Caleb Williams (01:11:43.251)
Terrible movie. Terrible movie.
John Siebels (01:11:45.847)
He's stalling. He's stalling 'cause he doesn't know any baseball movies. Good.
Caleb Williams (01:11:51.219)
Okay. Can't criticize that one.
Alex Boyajian (01:11:57.896)
I have one criticism of that movie, but I'm actually not gonna say it because it's definitely not appropriate for recording. I'll tell I'll tell you guys after this.
Caleb Williams (01:12:04.626)
I had to re I had to read that book in college. It was actually good book.
Alex Boyajian (01:12:10.865)
and then I'm gonna like completely, completely fuck John. Completely in this. He's gonna hate me for this. I'm taking forty two.
John Siebels (01:12:12.779)
I don't know, you could read.
John Siebels (01:12:22.401)
Fuck!
Caleb Williams (01:12:23.066)
Damn.
Alex Boyajian (01:12:24.699)
Yeah Fuck you, John!
John Siebels (01:12:29.76)
How'd you know I was gonna take that? How'd you know I was gonna take it?
Caleb Williams (01:12:29.798)
That was on my
Alex Boyajian (01:12:29.829)
Ha ha ha.
Because you love Jackie Robinson! Chadwick Boseman's amazing. I mean, Harrison Ford and Chadwick Boseman in a baseball movie? Are you fucking kidding me?
Caleb Williams (01:12:33.372)
That was in my queue.
John Siebels (01:12:35.242)
I fucking love Jackie Robbins. Fuck.
John Siebels (01:12:41.046)
Alright, can I can you excuse my opinion? I think it's the best movie ever. I think it's the best I think it's the best baseball movie ever. I genuinely think it's the best baseball movie ever. And I thought that's why I said I don't think you guys are gonna take my real number one. Alright, give me for Love of the Game.
Caleb Williams (01:12:41.702)
The f the fast and furious guy playing T. Wee Reese.
Alex Boyajian (01:12:57.969)
That's a great one. I did not have that up there though.
Caleb Williams (01:13:01.349)
No, that was not on my list.
Alex Boyajian (01:13:03.771)
Just because just just out of like the crowd like the pandering to the crowd aspect. I watch I actually r I've watched that like four times in the last couple months.
John Siebels (01:13:05.57)
You're an idiot.
It was such a good movie.
So good.
Alright, yours, Caleb. I mean Alex. Caleb, no you're up.
Caleb Williams (01:13:15.899)
Zimmy. All right. That's perfect. The two picks I was debating on in my number one, both of them I will end up with because I am going Bull Durham.
Alex Boyajian (01:13:18.428)
No, it's Caleb's.
Alex Boyajian (01:13:30.349)
Mm.
Caleb Williams (01:13:32.004)
Fantastic movie. So many quotable lines. I mean, the hit the bull. yeah, Bull Durham. Kevin Coster's phenomenal. He's been in a lot of baseball movies. This is the only one that's not like annoying to watch. The it's quotable, it's funny. Bullderham. I considered it my one one and I'm glad it fell to me. I have another pick, don't I?
Alex Boyajian (01:13:38.405)
It was the natural or bull durum for me.
Alex Boyajian (01:14:00.506)
Yes you do.
John Siebels (01:14:00.779)
Yup. Five. Four. Three. Two.
Caleb Williams (01:14:01.595)
Ooh, I am torn here. Gimme bad news bears.
Alex Boyajian (01:14:07.037)
which one? Which one? There's two. The OG. Not the Billy Bob Thornton?
Caleb Williams (01:14:10.477)
The OG, the OG. Wal Walter Mathau. No, Walter Mathow. Give me the OG. The OG Tanner Boyle was a stud. I've got a Tanner Boyle, Chico's Bail Bonds jersey, Bad News Bears. It's fantastic movie. Greatest little league movie ever made. Don't watch the second or third or all their other sequels of it because they're terrible. But the OG Bad News Bears is fantastic.
John Siebels (01:14:39.03)
Just so you know I'm I'm gonna win this draft 'cause I'm running fucking laps around you. I'm taking the major league.
Caleb Williams (01:14:46.626)
Was torn between that and and bad news bears.
John Siebels (01:14:48.342)
How does the major league fall to the middle of the third round? Behind bad news bears. I I would have taken Major League above the natural and I would have taken above bad news bears.
Alex Boyajian (01:14:52.325)
Well look at what's ahead of it though. Look at what's ahead of it.
Caleb Williams (01:14:59.766)
No, no, no, no.
Alex Boyajian (01:15:00.337)
The natural is one of the most it is one of the most influential baseball movies that we have. Robert Redford? Are you fucking Glenn Close? Are you fucking kidding me?
John Siebels (01:15:07.178)
Wild thing? Wild thing?
Caleb Williams (01:15:10.764)
The natural the natural's too iconic.
John Siebels (01:15:13.768)
Alright, so so is the Major League. I would say the Major League If you ask No, because the natural is a ba because the Natural is a is a baseball movie for baseball fans. The Major League appealed to everybody, regardless of if you like baseball or not. Alex, are you gonna take the bench warmers now, Alex? Is that your Harold Bains?
Alex Boyajian (01:15:16.657)
Major League's great, it's great. But are you fucking telling me the natural You're it's a s you're a sick man. You're a sick sick human being. You're a sick individual.
Caleb Williams (01:15:17.921)
It was it was great, yeah.
Alex Boyajian (01:15:28.701)
Shut up.
Alex Boyajian (01:15:37.637)
No, I love I I do love the bench warmers though. Are you are you shit talking? Are you shit talking now? Are you shit talking? I'm not taking that.
Caleb Williams (01:15:39.565)
Don't sleep on the bed, Wars. Come on. No disrespect. I'm
John Siebels (01:15:42.337)
Okay.
But bench warmers? Yeah.
Caleb Williams (01:15:47.829)
the bench warmers is so good. I'm not taking it either, but it's so good.
Alex Boyajian (01:15:52.838)
It just it's not it's not up there for me. but it's I think as a movie, like an enjoyable movie. I can pop that in every single night and laugh. Fucking Howie with getting hit to win the game.
Caleb Williams (01:16:03.389)
Mm-hmm.
John Siebels (01:16:04.938)
You crashed my Miata!
Alex Boyajian (01:16:08.785)
Yeah, Nick Swarzen's great. Alright, I'm looking at all these movies. Do I take Do I take this one? It's just like sitting out there.
Alex Boyajian (01:16:21.745)
I I'm not taking this one. I d it just doesn't.
Caleb Williams (01:16:24.237)
The number three on my board is still here, so I'm very excited about that.
Alex Boyajian (01:16:28.217)
I need to go with like a little bit more of a lighthearted one, because I have a couple of really fucking These are These are some heavier movies. my god, there is a I'm I'm actually not gonna spoil this movie because this is fucking hilarious. Or I'm not gonna spoil this pick for you guys. Give me
John Siebels (01:16:46.562)
Just take the pick.
Alex Boyajian (01:16:54.791)
Give me fever pitch.
Caleb Williams (01:16:56.96)
that's awful.
John Siebels (01:16:57.132)
Good movie.
Alex Boyajian (01:16:59.003)
What are you talking about? What are you talking about?
Caleb Williams (01:17:00.608)
That's awful. That's a terrible movie.
John Siebels (01:17:03.004)
It's is it it's it's a baseball adjacent rom com.
Alex Boyajian (01:17:07.483)
Yeah. It's a baseball movie about they made the movie and they had a different ending until the Red Sox won the World Series and they were like, fuck.
John Siebels (01:17:14.624)
That's crazy. So I have Field of Dreams for Love of the Game in Major League and you took Fever Pitch and I have on my list I have I have seven baseball movies way before that.
Caleb Williams (01:17:19.615)
That's horrible.
Alex Boyajian (01:17:20.443)
I had to take a lighthearted one. I have two For the love of the game is critically for the love of the game is like crit it did not do critically well. They taught they it's a fucking love story.
Caleb Williams (01:17:23.445)
Jim Jimmy Fallon is awful.
John Siebels (01:17:29.314)
I don't give a fuck about the critics. He threw a perfect game. It's he No no no no no it's no. You know why? It's a baseball movie that has a love story. Fever pitches of rom com that has some baseball in it. It's not a Fuck you. Caleb pick er Alex, just p take your fourth pick. Just take your fourth pick. Take your fourth pick.
Alex Boyajian (01:17:35.451)
Yeah, it's a love story. It's a half of it's a love story. They do so much shit with the love story.
Caleb Williams (01:17:47.435)
They're both awful. They both suck. They both suck.
Alex Boyajian (01:17:48.153)
It's it's literally about baseball.
No, it's my next one.
Caleb Williams (01:17:56.382)
You took Jimmy Fallon in a baseball movie. That's crazy. That's awful. That movie sucks.
Alex Boyajian (01:18:00.86)
Yeah. It's perfectly enjoyable.
John Siebels (01:18:04.908)
Pick take your next pick so I can pick a real baseball movie.
Alex Boyajian (01:18:05.07)
Caleb Williams (01:18:06.216)
Take take Angels in the outfield next.
What about summer catch? Go go for summer catch.
Alex Boyajian (01:18:13.384)

Alex Boyajian (01:18:18.152)
Give me Dennis Quaid, I'll take the rookie.
Caleb Williams (01:18:20.414)
That's good pick. That's a great pick.
John Siebels (01:18:23.104)
Not as good as mine.
with my fourth I'm gonna pick Pride of the Yankees.
Alex Boyajian (01:18:31.998)
Pride Okay.
Caleb Williams (01:18:34.106)
Th I mean, that was a free pick for you could've waited till the fifth round. Neither of us were taking that one.
John Siebels (01:18:37.79)
No, 'cause my fifth rounder I need I need my fifth rounder. Babe Ruth, no I'm not.
Alex Boyajian (01:18:42.066)
He's looking at the Rotten Tomatoes score right now and he's just like, What is the top Rotten Tomatoes baseball movies?
Caleb Williams (01:18:45.534)
Mm-hmm.
John Siebels (01:18:47.478)
Babe Ruth played himself. It's about Lou Gehrig. There's nothing baseballier than Lou Gehrig and Babe Ruth. I could have
Alex Boyajian (01:18:50.75)
Okay.
Alex Boyajian (01:18:56.786)
How enjoyable is it? Like how much do you actually enjoy? Like how can like can you sit down and enjoy this movie?
John Siebels (01:18:59.614)
It doesn't do you are you okay with are you okay with crying during the movie? Because it's about Luke the greatest baseball player ev nineteen forty two.
Alex Boyajian (01:19:09.052)
When was this made? When was this made? You can't get me to enjoy a movie made in 1942.
John Siebels (01:19:15.734)
Sick, I'll enjoy it for I'll enjoy it for us both.
Caleb Williams (01:19:15.921)
Yeah, the prod production value the production value on that's gotta be just rock bottom.
John Siebels (01:19:22.754)
Okay.
Alex Boyajian (01:19:22.844)
I thought he was gonna I you what I'm spoiling this pick. I thought you were gonna take Heading Home, the Tale of Team Israel.
John Siebels (01:19:32.416)
No, I'm good. I'm good. I'll take Pride of the Yankees.
Alex Boyajian (01:19:37.0)
I had that like written out for you.
John Siebels (01:19:38.943)
You don't know ball.
There's still one, two, three, it's like five good baseball movies left.
Alex Boyajian (01:19:45.16)
Caleb.
Alex Boyajian (01:19:49.01)
There's one out there, it's sitting out there and it's I think we all know what it is. I don't know if anyone's taken it.
Caleb Williams (01:19:50.802)
Yeah, I'm size.
I've got five on my list.
John Siebels (01:19:55.496)
Is it Angels in the outfield?
Caleb Williams (01:19:59.41)
Horrible movie.
Alex Boyajian (01:20:01.928)
Joseph Gordon Levitt's in
Caleb Williams (01:20:04.136)
Still a horrible movie. is it me? All right.
Alex Boyajian (01:20:08.306)
Yeah, it's you.
John Siebels (01:20:08.543)
Yes.
Caleb Williams (01:20:13.209)
I really want to make John mad, but I'm not gonna do it. No. to salvage my I'm gonna salvage my fifth pick. my fourth one, I'm gonna go little big league. I think that movie is incredibly slept on. The can the cameos in that movie.
John Siebels (01:20:15.861)
That's fine.
Alex Boyajian (01:20:30.044)
That was that was one I was hoping would fall to me. I was hoping it would fall to me at the end. I did not think any of you were gonna take it. I think it is I think it is the best quality baseball movie ever. The the quality of baseball that they play in that movie is I mean where what compares? Don't tell me Pride of the Yankees. That shit does not compare.
Caleb Williams (01:20:35.929)
No.
Caleb Williams (01:20:45.947)
Yeah.
Caleb Williams (01:20:50.373)
I
Caleb Williams (01:20:53.946)
No, a big a big part for me is in baseball movies is guys that can actually look like they play the game. I think in a little big league. I mean, obviously they had Ken Griffey Jr. in the fucking movie, so can't be it can't be too bad. Randy Johnson and Dave Dave Magadin, Mickey Tattleton. I think he is. Yeah, he I don't think he has any lines, but he has like a scene where he's hitting a hitting a ground ball or something. Pudge is in it, yeah.
Alex Boyajian (01:21:04.924)
Randy Johnson Randy Johnson
Is Palmero in that?
Alex Boyajian (01:21:18.462)
I'm pretty sure Pudge Pudge is in it at one point.
Caleb Williams (01:21:23.193)
But yeah, the cameos are great. I mean, I think the premise of the movie is incredible. It's it's super creative, so DCA's mom is the mom, yeah. No, yeah, you're right.
Alex Boyajian (01:21:29.448)
PCA's mom is that or is that Yeah, that is the mom. That I was thinking 'cause Rookie of the Year and Little Big League came out around the same time. Sometimes I mix up the cast of those two.
Caleb Williams (01:21:39.833)
No, the yeah, the mom in Little Big League is PCA's mom. I am so torn on my fifth pick though. My fifth pick, I'm either gonna make John well with the make John mad thing that kind of is obvious, but also wanna go with a fifth pick that like the one I was talking about before that nobody's seen.
Alex Boyajian (01:21:48.453)
I know what you want.
John Siebels (01:21:58.484)
Is a good movie because the one you're gonna pick. It wouldn't piss me off because it would mean I've that I could take my like little passion project movie and be comfortable beating you because the movie you're talking about is the worst fucking movie of all time. So take it. It's a fucking terrible movie. It's a bad movie. Watch baseball.
Caleb Williams (01:22:12.036)
Shit. It's not. It's a great movie if it's a great movie if you don't it's a great movie if you don't take the actual true season of the A's into consideration. But the actual production in the movie's great. But I'm not gonna do it.
John Siebels (01:22:27.421)
If you would acknowledge if you would acknowledge that you had Miguel Tejada, then all of a sudden it's a decent baseball movie.
Caleb Williams (01:22:33.044)
I I see it as a fiction movie. I watch it as a fiction movie and I love it.
John Siebels (01:22:36.821)
But it's it's given to you, it's fed to you as a as this is what really happened. This is how they made the playoffs. We didn't have Barry Zito.
Caleb Williams (01:22:43.628)
It is. But
It's still it's still a great movie. I think I'm going I'm gonna go with my niche pick here. And I there's no way that anyone's heard of it, but I don't think you do. It's everybody wants some. It is my god. No, no. Everybody wants some. That's one of my favorite movies of all time. Glenn Powell is phenomenal. it's basically what's the Matthew McConaughey 80s movie?
John Siebels (01:22:49.109)
No, it's not.
Alex Boyajian (01:22:55.336)
I know what you're taking.
Alex Boyajian (01:22:59.664)
That's exactly what I was gonna say.
Caleb Williams (01:23:16.589)
Dazed and confused. It's dazed and confused for college baseball. I've I've seen this movie probably end to fifteen times. And it's one of my favorite of all time. I'm easily going everybody wants some.
Alex Boyajian (01:23:30.622)
Opinion John?
John Siebels (01:23:31.283)
It's actually extremely I've never seen it. It's highly rated, eighty seven percent of rotten tomatoes. So it's like
Caleb Williams (01:23:37.175)
Everyone I've ever talked to that plays baseball has not seen this movie. It's such a good movie.
John Siebels (01:23:39.893)
I've never seen it. I've never seen it. I have one you haven't seen, but do I wanna win or do I wanna take one of my favorite baseball movies?
Alex Boyajian (01:23:50.152)
Does this have a one hundred percent on Rotten Tomatoes?
That you're that you're thinking about.
John Siebels (01:23:54.517)
Mine?
You see.
Alex Boyajian (01:23:58.587)
It's a it is a passion project. It is a very niche film.
John Siebels (01:24:01.319)
No. let me see what it has. No, I don't think you're taking it. So you know who my second favorite baseball player is behind Jackie Robinson is Roberto Clemente. And I
Caleb Williams (01:24:18.361)
Mm-hmm.
John Siebels (01:24:22.035)
I'll take it. Chasing three thousand.
John Siebels (01:24:26.719)
Have you ever seen it?
Alex Boyajian (01:24:29.224)
With Bernie Mack?
John Siebels (01:24:30.911)
No, that's Mr. Three Thousand. Idiot. You ever seen chasing three thousand?
Caleb Williams (01:24:30.97)
No, that's Mr. Three Thousand.
Alex Boyajian (01:24:37.278)
Chasing three thousand
Caleb Williams (01:24:39.369)
I have not seen it.
John Siebels (01:24:39.955)
It's got Ray Ray Leota's in it. one of the Colkins is in it. It's about a brut two pirates fans. One of them is muscular dystrophy and isn't gonna be able to travel much more. So they go on like a cross country road trip to follow the pirates so they can see Roberto Clementi's three thousandth hit. And it it was an okay
Caleb Williams (01:24:59.211)
So it's basic it's basically like eighty for Brady.
John Siebels (01:25:02.847)
Yes, it's very similar. But it's about my other pick, I was gonna go with 61, but then I would have two very Yankee centric movies, though the sniper from Saving Private Ryan played Roger Maris, which was pretty cool. He did a good job. It's a better movie, but I'm gonna take Chasing 3000.
Alex Boyajian (01:25:05.746)
Baseball eighty for Brady.
Alex Boyajian (01:25:30.707)
I can't leave this out. Like this can't be left like
Alex Boyajian (01:25:38.909)
I gotta go Moneyball. I'm sorry. Like, Moneyball is a is a very good movie. It is a very enjoyable movie to watch. The the entire streak sequence is incredible. Like you don't you can watch the streak sequence and be like this is a great movie. You don't even have to think about who's on the team and who's not on the team. Again, watch it as a fiction film. It's fiction.
Caleb Williams (01:25:42.59)
Yep. It's a good take. Good take.
John Siebels (01:25:58.581)
Well, I've watched baseball in my life. But it's not presented as fiction. And there are so many people who think, well, you know, they didn't have anybody on that squad and they made the playoffs. I've legitimately heard people say that. That a team with almost no talent made it.
Alex Boyajian (01:26:14.076)
No, they were a great team. They were a great team.
Caleb Williams (01:26:17.604)
thing that skews me away from that is like interviews with guys like David Justice and I think Eric Chavez did something where they've openly spoken like this is not even close to the conversation that happened here. Like this is this isn't what happened. Yeah I see it as a fiction movie. I
Alex Boyajian (01:26:31.164)
Which is fine. It's a baseball movie.
John Siebels (01:26:33.172)
But they present it they present it as a as a like this is what happened. They present it as like a semi-realistic take on that team. And if you s you have to acknowledge that they had possibly the best pitching staff in baseball, possibly inarguably the
Caleb Williams (01:26:38.685)
Yeah.
John Siebels (01:26:53.098)
Probably the best infielder in baseball that year, Tai Tehada. So yeah, you ha you got a bunch of guys with high OPS. These guys are scrappy and can get on base. Great. And who drove all in?
Alex Boyajian (01:27:03.058)
Wow, a movie took a a Hollywood movie took liberties with the with the story that it was based on. What a shocker. What a shocker. What a shocker. Mike the the blind side won fucking awards and Michael Orr is like suing the family. Are we really gonna have this discussion right now?
John Siebels (01:27:09.428)
They didn't take liberties, they rewrote the whole season. They rewrote the whole se sorry.
John Siebels (01:27:20.756)
Blind Tide's not a good movie.
Yeah, moneyball sucks.
Alex Boyajian (01:27:27.528)
Moneyball does not suck. It is a well done movie.
John Siebels (01:27:28.98)
The ath the athletics the athletics took that and they rolled with it for like two decades. Like we're just doing a little moneyball here. Don't use a shitty movie as an excuse for why you can't run a fucking franchise. The book was written in O three. The book was written in O three.
Alex Boyajian (01:27:38.088)
Well the movie was made in like two thousand twelve. They did ten years of of Moneyball without the movie existing. You can't blame the movie for fucking money b like what the fuck you talking about?
Caleb Williams (01:27:42.045)
Yeah.
John Siebels (01:27:50.857)
You know it's based on a book, right? A book that was also written fucking super dishonestly. Two thousand and three. Fact check it. So like a year later, the book came out the next season. Probably not very fucking accurate. No!
Alex Boyajian (01:27:55.389)
When did the book come out? When did the book come out? Okay.
Alex Boyajian (01:28:03.891)
How accurate how accurate was the book? I'm genuinely curious. You didn't read it?
Caleb Williams (01:28:08.588)
It the book did get the book did get more into the the like stars of the team than the movie did. My dad did his college thesis on this. My dad did his college thesis on this on like all the stuff they've cut out. And it that's part of the reason why I didn't take it. Like, yeah, ever there was so much stuff that was left out, but I believe at face value, the actual movie is a good movie. If you do not if you
John Siebels (01:28:15.402)
So they s cut all that shit out.
John Siebels (01:28:22.154)
So everything that was realistic.
Alex Boyajian (01:28:32.593)
It's a very well done movie. Very well done.
Caleb Williams (01:28:36.579)
Like Chris Pratt is incredible. He he does a great job playing Scott Hatterberg, even though Scott Scott Hatterberg played like fifty games that year.
John Siebels (01:28:40.448)
Chris Pratt's funny as fuck.
Alex Boyajian (01:28:41.799)
I mean the
The I mean, just ta just the scene with with Ron Washington in their house and and Brad Pitt is just bullshitting him. He's like, Yeah, first base ain't that hard. It's incredibly hard. Like, come on. That's so that's
Caleb Williams (01:28:55.855)
Incredibly hard.
Caleb Williams (01:28:59.995)
I get the criticisms for Moneyball, but it overall it's a good movie. It's a good movie. Yeah.
Alex Boyajian (01:29:01.979)
It's per it's valid. They're valid criticisms, but I'm looking at at the board right now, I'm looking at every movie that's on here. Moneyball cannot be left off this board. I don't think it can be.
Caleb Williams (01:29:14.735)
There's there's one other that's that I was just about to say there's one other that I would have Moneyball and Mr. Baseball or League League of their own and Mr. Baseball.
John Siebels (01:29:15.732)
We left League of The Roan off the board. We left Sixty One off the board.
Alex Boyajian (01:29:22.057)
You left what?
Alex Boyajian (01:29:26.162)
I'm wearing the jersey, I know.
John Siebels (01:29:29.13)
So you passed on League of The Rome?
Alex Boyajian (01:29:30.941)
Yeah. Everyone did. Every single one of you passed on League of Their Own.
Caleb Williams (01:29:32.037)
Do you just hate women?
John Siebels (01:29:32.826)
I was gonna Yeah, but you could have taken that over fever pitch.
Alex Boyajian (01:29:39.741)
You took pride of the Yankees. You took pride of the Yankees.
John Siebels (01:29:42.108)
Is a great fucking movie. Is a great movie. So pound sand. As far up your ass as you can.
Caleb Williams (01:29:46.381)
I swept the I swept this draft. I swept this draft.
Alex Boyajian (01:29:47.144)
You made you You took a movie made in nineteen forty-two. You took a movie before what it's like during that movie was made during World or it came out during World War II. I don't know when it was made, but it came out during World War II.
Caleb Williams (01:29:58.379)
N the lead the lead actor murdered the lead actor murdered his wife, so thick pick.
John Siebels (01:30:03.84)
So what? He didn't murder his wife during the movie. You know they don't show it in the movie. Okay.
Alex Boyajian (01:30:03.847)
He burned her in a house. Yeah. But he did murder his wife.
Caleb Williams (01:30:09.165)
It was it was after he murdered his wife, yeah.
John Siebels (01:30:13.096)
Yeah. So what does that have to do with the movie?
Alex Boyajian (01:30:14.121)
Would you have I'm not gonna ask that question.
Caleb Williams (01:30:17.239)
He had it on his conscience.
John Siebels (01:30:20.005)
I bet you fifty bucks Jimmy Fallon's on the Epstein list and you took fever pitch.
John Siebels (01:30:27.476)
Okay, so I bet I bet Brad Pitt I bet Brad Pitt's on the list. I bet Jonah Hill's on the list. So don't talk to me about morals when drafting my fucking movies.
Caleb Williams (01:30:27.777)
criticize favorite pets, so
Alex Boyajian (01:30:27.837)
Wasn't on it then. I don't know.
Alex Boyajian (01:30:34.803)
Yeah, Jonah Hill's probably on the list. let's see. Kevin Costner was fucking Cal Ripkin's wife. Cheater. Serial cheater. So you support a serial cheater?
John Siebels (01:30:42.378)
Kevin Coster could actually fucking sling it, by the way. Dude, yeah. you know that Kevin Coster can actually pitch, that's why he's in so many?
Caleb Williams (01:30:42.925)
Baller. That's baller.
Caleb Williams (01:30:48.758)
My I'm a Mike Rabel fan, so
Alex Boyajian (01:30:52.953)
Ha ha ha.
John Siebels (01:30:54.56)
Alright boys. Hey, hit me with my outro 'cause I gotta go snuggle my kids.
Alex Boyajian (01:30:57.753)
yeah, give give us a couple hold on, give us a couple of your honorable mentions. Who didn't make the cut? Yeah, who didn't make the cut?
John Siebels (01:31:02.788)
for the movies, sixty-one in League of Their Own. Or the best two baseball movies I've taken. And Angels in the outfield. No.
Alex Boyajian (01:31:07.965)
You're not gonna take Ed?
John Siebels (01:31:12.542)
What the fuck is head? No.
Caleb Williams (01:31:12.8)
You do love those you love those old time movies. I thought it was a horse. Wasn't Ed a horse?
Alex Boyajian (01:31:12.839)
No monkey playing baseball?
Alex Boyajian (01:31:19.165)
No, that's Mr. Ed. That's Mr. Ed. Ed is a movie with Matt LeBlanc, the guy from Friends, and he is a minor league ballplayer, and the minor league team gets a monkey to play with him, and he has to live with him. It got it's a horrible movie. It's really bad. Summer Catch. Enjoyable. I enjoy that movie, because
John Siebels (01:31:19.282)
I thought it was a giraffe.
Caleb Williams (01:31:20.896)
As mi okay.
Caleb Williams (01:31:32.28)
That sounds sounds riveting.
John Siebels (01:31:35.848)
Yeah.
Caleb Williams (01:31:38.272)
No, awful. Awful. That's the worst movie of all time. He left he's in the middle of a perfect game. He's in the middle of a perfect game and left the fucking field. No, fuck Jessica Bill. I'm not giving up on a no hitter.
John Siebels (01:31:41.79)
Bet you do. You also enjoy Moneyball.
Alex Boyajian (01:31:44.381)
Jessica Beale.
Jessica Beale, dude. Prime Jessica Beale.
John Siebels (01:31:52.668)
You're saying would you would you would leave a perfect game in the middle of a game to go bang Jessica Beale. You fucking coward.
Caleb Williams (01:31:56.811)
I'm Nope. Nope. Not in the Cape Cod. Not in the Cape Cod league. You could be a first round pick and you're leaving that for Jessica Beale? Fuck that.
Alex Boyajian (01:31:58.236)
No. But Jessica Beale Jessica Buell's in the movie. Jessica Beale's in the movie. I would never leave a perfect game, but Jessica Beale's in the movie.
Caleb Williams (01:32:09.216)
So then that movie sucks.
John Siebels (01:32:11.815)
Yeah. Jessica Beale's in a lot of movies, it doesn't mean they're good.
Alex Boyajian (01:32:13.459)
Okay.
Caleb Williams (01:32:15.402)
That that movie infuriated me.
Alex Boyajian (01:32:16.615)
The bench warmers.
John Siebels (01:32:18.585)
Alex, I just wanna give you credit because you've you've made me agree with Caleb so much in the last twenty minutes and it's actually making me a little nauseous. Like your your takes are so f or that fucking bad.
Alex Boyajian (01:32:21.319)
I like a lot of bad movies too.
Caleb Williams (01:32:26.486)
Mr. Baseball was on my list.
Alex Boyajian (01:32:26.751)
Mr. Baseball.
I love anything with Tom Selleck.
Caleb Williams (01:32:34.59)
Mr. Baseball's on my list. Frank, shout out Frank Thomas.
Alex Boyajian (01:32:38.047)
John Siebels (01:32:38.463)
I've never seen Mr. Baseball.
Caleb Williams (01:32:40.544)
Great movie.
John Siebels (01:32:41.949)
I don't watch a lot I don't watch a lot of movies, so
Alex Boyajian (01:32:42.011)
I can't believe you took a little big league. Brewster's millions.
Caleb Williams (01:32:46.282)
No.
Alex Boyajian (01:32:47.421)
Richard Pryor? John Candy? Richard Pryor and John Candy?
Caleb Williams (01:32:48.82)
I'll pass. I'll pass. The whole no, the whole concept pissed me off. It made no sense.
John Siebels (01:32:53.307)
Hey, I wanna clear the air here. By the way, Alex tried to pass Space Jam off as a baseball movie that he could take in the draft before you got in here. He said, Is Space Jam can I run
Alex Boyajian (01:33:03.857)
No, I did not pass that off. I said basketball. I said basketball and basketball is in the same like kind of category of it's kind of ba like the baseball happens in the movie.
Caleb Williams (01:33:15.827)
I I wouldn't quali I wouldn't qualify basketball, but basketball's a fantastic movie. I wouldn't qualify it, but Gary Busey Gary Busey throwing a baseball makes me angry.
John Siebels (01:33:15.837)
Yeah, and then you said like space jam.
Alex Boyajian (01:33:20.999)
I love basketball. Rookie of the Year I don't like Rookie of the Year. I think it's hor it's very the baseball played in Rookie of the Year is horrible. It's just bad.
John Siebels (01:33:26.462)
You took
Caleb Williams (01:33:33.225)
Powerful.
John Siebels (01:33:33.235)
Did you not take Rookie of the Year? you took the Rookie. Okay. You took the Rookie. That's a good movie. Good movie. R.I.P. by the way. G baby.
Alex Boyajian (01:33:36.744)
hard ball, Keanu I Keanu. G baby. God. RIP G Baby.
Caleb Williams (01:33:39.303)
Yeah.
Caleb Williams (01:33:43.128)
the perfect game. What is it? The about the Mexican Little League team that comes up to I think it's called yeah, that that was on my list too.
Alex Boyajian (01:33:47.783)
Yeah, I think that is the perfect game. I think that's what it's called.
How do we feel about trouble with the curve?
Caleb Williams (01:33:56.294)
It's not a baseball movie.
Alex Boyajian (01:33:57.653)
Good actors.
John Siebels (01:33:57.824)
Clint Eastwood, it's a base it's a baseball movie. It's about a guy who's a professional baseball scout. It's a baseball movie. That's like saying Draft Day isn't a football movie. I don't love it, but it's definitely a baseball movie.
Alex Boyajian (01:34:03.316)
Baseball scout.
Very good actors. Shaggy. Shaggy's in it.
Caleb Williams (01:34:08.894)
I didn't I didn't love it. I don't know. It it it felt like more of a like a romantic chick flick kinda to me. I didn't like it.
Alex Boyajian (01:34:19.804)
Million dollar arm. What about million dollar arm?
John Siebels (01:34:20.425)
There's a lot of baseball. Is that about is that the one about the cricket players?
Alex Boyajian (01:34:24.98)
That's John Hamm, that's the cricket one. They try to turn the cricket the ki cricket player into a a pitcher.
Caleb Williams (01:34:25.19)
That was the Indian that was the Indian yeah.
John Siebels (01:34:31.763)
Valid idea actually in real life, like not a bad idea. They can throw it really hard.
Caleb Williams (01:34:31.922)
Yeah, that was that was a good one.
Alex Boyajian (01:34:36.378)
Cobb Cobb, Tommy Lee Jones, the story of Ty Cobb. Essentially they they they tell the story from Ty Cobb's perspective.
John Siebels (01:34:42.377)
Ty cu fuck Ty Cobb.
John Siebels (01:34:49.373)
How many times do they say the N-word? Cause Ty Cop was a racist piece of shit. Do you know that do you know that
Caleb Williams (01:34:55.27)
That's actu that's a misconception. That's a misconception. All of the stories on Ty Cobb were based on Rogers Hornsby. Ty Cobb was a huge no Ty Cobb was an advocate for the Negro leagues. Ty Cobb was actually he was a terrible person, but
Alex Boyajian (01:34:55.282)
I don't know, I did not count.
John Siebels (01:35:00.605)
He said
Alex Boyajian (01:35:03.806)
That's essentially what that's essentially what the movie is about. It's saying it's
John Siebels (01:35:11.019)
I heard so did Rogers Hornsb Did Rogers Hornsby say that Ty Cobb refused to share a dugout with Babe Ruth because he looked too much like Ann Enward? Cause that was reported He wouldn't play in the All-Star game.
Alex Boyajian (01:35:26.708)
I don't know.
Caleb Williams (01:35:26.722)
well there's been a apparently a lot of the reports against Ty Cobb that like were racially like charged were from writers that really just had like an issue with him. That's kind of the whole thing that I've been seeing.
John Siebels (01:35:40.679)
I could see that. Because there's no real verification back in that day. You can't like get it on re on the record.
Caleb Williams (01:35:44.188)
But there's pictures there's pictures of him like throwing out the first pitch at like a in an arguable Negro Leagues game. Like I don't know. It's it feels like this But he was like a big supporter, apparently. That that that's at least what I've read. I don't know, maybe I'm wrong, but I've I've seen that I've seen that a lot of stuff about Ty Cobb was like over exaggerated. I'm sure he I'm sure he was still a racist because
John Siebels (01:35:53.981)
But you could throw out the first pitch and still not like them.
John Siebels (01:36:03.751)
No, you're probably right.
Alex Boyajian (01:36:04.528)
