While the top contenders for the Super Bowl prepare to fight it out in the conference championships, twenty eight other teams are already looking towards next year. Is it too early to begin making bold predictions for the 2024-25 NFL season? Absolutely it is, but i will be damned if I let someone else correctly predict the biggest storylines of the season before I do.

Chiefs finish the season as the #1 scoring offense while the defense takes a step back
This season gave us a far different Kansas City team than we have seen in the past. The Chiefs defense was borderline elite while the offense looked lost at times, but that will change due to a few major offseason moves. The Chiefs will let Chris Jones walk in favor of spending big on the offensive side of the ball. Bringing in Calvin Ridley will give the Chiefs a veteran presence at receiver with the potential to be a top 10 player at the position. Pairing him with an emerging star in Rasheed Rice will be all the help Mahomes needs to get back to the player we are used to seeing.

Houston opens the checkbook and wins the AFC
This season gave us a glimpse into the future of the Houston Texans franchise with the incredible play of rookie QB C.J. Stroud. And look, Houston was in contention for the AFC Title this year. Ownership will pounce on the opportunity to capitalize on the success of their young star by surrounding him with more talent. By the time next season starts the Texans payroll will have skyrocketed thanks to the signing of Chris Jones and Tee Higgins. A much improved defense and star studded offense will will carry the Texans to a Super Bowl appearance following a win over the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Title Game.

Aaron Rodgers Does Not Appear In a Game For The New York Jets
Okay, maybe this one is a little too bold but who knows what is going on with Rodgers these days. The Jets brought him in to turn around a chaotic franchise and he has somehow caused more drama from the sidelines than we could have ever imagined, and all in exchange for less than one drive of his services. Whether it be that he gets lost in the jungle on an ayahuasca trip over the off-season, decides to co-host the Pat McAfee show full time, or the Jets just decide to draft a QB into the starting role, I don't see Rodgers starting for the Jets come week 1.

The Bengals Super Bowl Window Closes
Joe Burrow is undeniably fantastic, but two season ending injuries over the course of four years in the league isn't a recipe for success. The Bengals gave him a massive contract leading up to free agency decisions for key players and it comes back to bite them. I predict Tee Higgins will decide that he deserves more than playing second fiddle to Jamar Chase and takes a major contract elsewhere. Joe Burrow takes a step back coming off missing half the year and the Bengals miss the playoffs for a second consecutive year.
